Trump blames Democrats for "gross negligence" in allowing their servers to be hacked.

Simple question. 'True' or 'Not True'.

I call Phooey on this claim about "Insecure servers".

Take a look around, the biggest companies in the world get breached, all the time.

I read an interesting article some time ago that basically states cyber attacks are unpreventable, you can't stop them.

Cybersecurity: Defending 'unpreventable' cyber attacks - BBC News

Businesses should stop worrying about preventing intruders getting into their computer networks, and concentrate instead on minimising the damage they cause when they do.

That's the view of James Lewis, a cybersecurity expert at the Washington DC-based Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

Mr Lewis says that no company can prevent an attack launched by hackers who have the resources of a nation-state behind them from succeeding.

Like most things politicians say, there's probably some truth to it and some lies. I suspect their cyber-security probably wasn't great. But most of the blame still lies with Russia and possibly some with Trump himself.

This comment is going to bite him the ass at some point, when the Trump organisation servers are hacked.. if it has not already happened. Or even better.. when Trumps Twitter is hacked lol!

Yes, there are many articles like that. But also quite a few that claim the opposite. But almost every system can at least increase the difficulty to gain unauthorised access. 100% Secure is not possible at this time, but this will come to us later as wel. Until then we have to do with what we've got. In addition, security does not stop with preventing. It also includes monitoring. The more sensitive the information the more important monitoring becomes.

Sure you can never lay the blame with the victim. But the question whether the victim could have done more to prevent it is still justified in my opinion.

I think he's been hacked already but the info did not reveal anything that suited the hackers agenda.

They are saving it for when they want to make him dance to their tune, if he is not doing so already.

The only gross negligence the Democrats are guilty of is in not running a candidate who could beat an obvious fraud and in not getting out the vote to beat the conman.

Re: Trump blames Democrats for "gross negligence" in allowing their servers to be hac

Anyone can be a victim of a clickbait phising scheme. It happens to individuals sitting at their computers everyday. It happens to companies and corporations large and small - everyday.

This wasn't a matter of the DNC not having the best or even proper network security protocols in place. This was simply a matter of one or two people being stupid enough to click on a seemingly innocent advertisement or email link believing the source was legitimate and getting tricked into giving up their personal security information. Nothing more.

It can happen to any of us. You just have to be careless and gullible enough to fall for the okie-doke. And Podesta fell for it. Hopefully, it's as much of a lesson learned for him as it was for Target or any other company who has fell victim of this type of Internet scam.

I really see this as a dumbass poll. I mean, read his tweet...you'll have a factual answer. You don't have to make your question an opinion poll.

Gross negligence by the Democratic National Committee allowed hacking to take place.

But...to be serious, if the DNC was hacked, they were negligent in ensuring their security. If they were NOT hacked, then they have a serious problem with insiders who mean them harm.

Donald Trump's personal words are a more reliable source of news than the entire MSM. He's making a true statement while the MSM is claiming that the e-mails were "hacked". We know the e-mails are accurate and were not modified in any way so they can't have been hacked. We know that these e-mails were obtained via "phising" and not hacked. If I want to be informed I'm more likely to rely on Trump's twitter than all the MSM combined. Trump has been more truthful, more accurate, and more honest than all of the MSM combined.

Re: Trump blames Democrats for "gross negligence" in allowing their servers to be hac

The real problem with the hacking is not the hacking itself...its what was was found and exposed.

Stop shooting the messenger and concentrate on the message.

Hillary and her supporters don't want to hear that. They seem to over look what was revealed by their own words.

You should've added one more option

"It doesn't matter"

it really doesn't matter at all. the democratic party is a private organization, nothing in this hacking scandal revealed government information, purely internal communications involving election strategy between members of a private group, no elections boards were hacked, no government servers breached, etc

so really, it doesn't matter who's at fault, unless Trump himself was and there is zero evidence to support that.

Re: Trump blames Democrats for "gross negligence" in allowing their servers to be hac

negligence that, ironically, was revealed by these email leaks....

Re: Trump blames Democrats for "gross negligence" in allowing their servers to be hac

Donald Trump's personal words are a more reliable source of news than the entire MSM.

How can someone's words be reliable when the same person manages to contradict himself even in the same sentence? But because of that there is about 50% truth in what he says so you can always refer to the part you like best.

He's making a true statement while the MSM is claiming that the e-mails were "hacked".

The statement was; 'Trump blames Democrats for "gross negligence" in allowing their servers to be hacked.' The MS is simply quoting Trump. But as pointed out above, I am sure you can also find a quote that state's the complete opposite.

We know the e-mails are accurate and were not modified in any way so they can't have been hacked.

I know the Demorats have never denied the accuracy of the emails, but do we really know they are accurate? But regardless of whether they emails were hacked or not, this is of course not proof that they have not been hacked. There is no relation between the two at all.

We know that these e-mails were obtained via "phising" and not hacked.

A hacker uses a variety of technologies to achieve his/her goals. Phishing is merely one of them. So if you want to tackle me on semantics, k, you got this one. But I referred to the hacking for simple reasons. Trump himself referred to hacking. When a hacker is on a mission fishing is definitely one of the tools he will use.

If I want to be informed I'm more likely to rely on Trump's twitter than all the MSM combined.

Yep, like I said above when you listen to Trump you will eventually find something you like on every subject. He will definitely have said something you want to hear. And the complete opposite of course, but let us simply ignore that because that is easier.

Trump has been more truthful, more accurate, and more honest than all of the MSM combined.

Truthful maybe, if you consider it his truth. But let's bare in mind that his truth also changes more rapidly than the weather. But definitely not more accurate and also definitely not more honest. But, as the title of this poll suggests, he does occasionally make a little bit sense.

I hear ya. Sure it is more important to look at the message itself. But that is not reason enough to stop looking at the messenger completely. Snowden would agree with you on this though...

Trump blames Democrats for "gross negligence" in allowing their servers to be hacked.

Simple question. 'True' or 'Not True'.

I lean toward true in the sense that I suspect they didn't have as much security as they should have. Really, I do think the Dems share much of the blame in this.

However, I'm not sure that any system is 100% safe.

Unless I see some new evidence I really don't blame Trump on this one. He'll take it, of course, just as Hillary and all her supporters would have gleefully taken a flip-flopped election... Trump winning the popular vote and Hillary winning the EC.

As far as Russia, of course they get most of the blame. But they're out of our jurisdiction and that mindset is who they are, so we really shouldn't be surprised. That's why we need to be on our toes and have the best security, which we seemed to have failed at.

I kind of liken it to a house burglary. If you do all your due diligence and you still get robbed, it's wholly on the burglar. But, if you leave the doors unlocked, the burglar is still to blame simply because they should be doing that at all, but you share some of the responsibility, too.

I agree with this, but... Given it is a major political party it is imperative that they have the absolute best security possible. If they did, then ok, it happens. If they didn't, then they share some of the blame.

I agree with this, also.

*How* we got the information is important, and needs to be address for its own reasons, but it's secondary. As far as voters are concerned, their #1 thought should be, "Is it true?"
