Since the other travel poll has gone swimmingly, lets see how many of these United States you have traveled to.

Personally, I've been to 42/50, missing AK,OR,ID, MT,SD,ME,NH,SC.

I'm missing AK, HI, LA, AL, FL, DE, CN, RI, MA, VT, NH, & ME, so I guess that makes 38 I have been to.

Probably all of them at some point or another. Why does it matter?

I have been to 26. All the West Coast ones from Texas north to West. Everywhere in CA. OR. WASH. AZ. WY. UT. NV. Literally every National Park. Beach. Forest. Mountain. Every highway. So I feel like I have been to way more of the USA than those who have done the tourist thing and jusr "been to states".

Missing a bunch of states in the northern/middle of the country. Alaska is pretty high on my bucket list, although I have no upcoming plans to visit. Maybe a cruise someday.

My work has taken me to all but Hawaii.

Missing Hawaii, Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Louisiana, the Dakotas, NC Delaware and I believe Arkansas

Have competed in All of New England, MD, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, colorado, Texas, Utah, California, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Alabama, Pennsylvania, NY, NJ, Tennessee, Wyoming, Missouri. The others were driving to competition venues such as Nevada, NM, Nebraska, or business trips (Kansas DC, Va, etc)

I never made a real effort to accumulate states I have seen, it just worked out that way

I've been to all of them except Alaska. A lot of them were just drive-throughs though.

Only missing Kansas.

Missing: AR, MS, LA, DE, MD, RI, NH, MA, ME, HI, & NJ

I have at least driven through every one except Maine and Alaska. Much of that was done on driving/camping vacations as a kid, so about half of the impressions are dated.

I have missed North Carolina, Arkansas, Alaska and Hawaii.

"In all those things which deal with people, be liberal, be human. In all those things which deal with people's money, or their economy, or their form of government, be conservative."

Is that yours? If you mean "conservative" in the literal (not American political def.) of the word, I totally agree. +10! Wish I had phrased it that way when trying to articulate the idea.

Not counting airports I think it's 28. Basically I've never been to the midwest.

I've been up and down both coasts and all over the west but haven't hit either of the Dakotas, MN, WI, NB, KS, OK, LA, MS, AL, TN, MO, IA, KY, OH, IL or WV.

OK, so it's 33 I've been to plus Puerto Rico and the USVI.

The last new one I visited was New Mexico in 2009. That made it 49. I hit most of the biggies I missed after my divorce, in 2002, on a driving trip to Nova Scotia from Ocean City, Maryland. That's when I nailed Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, taking ferries across Lake Champlain and the Gulf of St Laurence.

I have been to a state of consciousness, a state of despair, a state of joy, a state of happiness, a state of confusion, a state of ...

That would be cool, but I'm actually more interested in VT / NH / ME in the autumn.
Now you're talking!

I'd love to spend a few days in Boston, then drive up the coast to Maine.

Related side note: The big N.E. enchilada, would be to continue to the Canadian Maritimes!

You forgot the "state of altered consciousness".

Was especially popular during the 60's & 70's, but is also a perennial favorite (but not exclusively) of teens & twenty-somethings of any decade!
