I'm an American, this is America, and Donald Trump is the next American President. Therefore, he is my President.

I despise him and I think it's going to be a disaster, but I hope for the best. I hope that his outsider-ness really does make a positive difference. I hope his claims to not be beholden to anyone are true and that because of that, some sensible things can occur. I do sincerely hope he does well for this country.

I didn't like it when the Right refused to accept Obama's presidency as legitimate. I won't lower myself to their level. He's our president. Now, that does not mean we can't oppose the things he says and does. It just means he is our president.

Well of course that's the fact of the matter, but I do not support what he is about to do and that's all that matters. He does not in any sense represent me

Will Donald Trump be "your President"?

After the inauguration, of course.

It's a simple yes/no question. There is no "other" or in between. The question is about concept, or beliefs regarding how we view and value our process and political system. Even though Trump is the current example at hand, it is not about him specifically, nor is it about Obama, Bush II, etc.
Once sworn in he will be the President of the United States of America. Will I consider him My President and Leader, nope, and that is my right. Others put him in office and when the wheels come off I want to be able to say I stuck by my principles and never supported the guy in any way, should be interesting to watch unfold.

We are beholden to the rule of the majority, sadly.

True, we are stuck with him, does not those opposed to him have to give him one iota of respect, because respect is earned and he has done nothing to earn any. Maybe he will turn out to be the Savior of the Nation as some seem to some believe, I believe he will be anything but a savior and that we will be worse off after his term is completed, however it ends.

Nope, they all just suck. It's not like it would have even been different if their competition won either since Gore sucks, Kerry sucks, McCain sucks, Romney sucks, and Clinton sucks. In the thirty plus years I have been alive not once has suck not been the choices.

Egad.
Reminds me of that quote from some movie, "I'm just waiting for the dog to die so I can shoot myself."

A majority of states voted for Trump, so you're only half-right.

States don't vote. People do. Kinda like you know, guns don't kill people do. The majority of States are red, and vote that way even when the Democrat wins.

People need to fight for what they believe in. He ain't it. He is anathema to everything I stand for. I'm not going to symbolically or otherwise support the destruction of many people's life work to help solve humanities problems. He is the enemy of science.

I don't care what they believe in, he was elected, he is President, people need to grow the hell up and deal with it, just like people did when Obama was elected. People can hate him all they want, but to deny that he's actually the elected President of the United States is downright childish.

That was not the actual question. He is going to be President of the United States of America, that does not mean those that oppose him are now going to now support him or respect him, why should they?

I don't care. The question was, is he your president. The answer for every single American is yes. That's how it goes.

If he is successful he will have undone everything we environmental scientists have spent our lives working on. So, no, he can not be my president and I can not root for him to be successful if that means the destruction of what I stand for.

One question....

Are you an American citizen?

I agree with our electoral system. As we all believe, anyone can grow up to be President.

If you say so, he was elected, what I think of him or consider him to be matters only to me.

Exactly.

The point is: yes he is our 'president'.

How much stock and power we put into that is on US we the PEOPLE.

To me it matters little. The Constitution is the end-all BE-all supreme authority, and the President, whether it is a Clinton or a TRUMP or a WHATEVER... is beholden to the supreme authority of the constitution. As a Constitutionalist, if the President does not submit himself and humble himself to it, he might as well be impeached (or worse).

In That I am in total agreement. Now if we can get it so that the entire government has to abide by the same conditions we would be set. I will not be holding my breath for that to occur any time soon.

I voted, "Yes". I didn't vote for him, but I believe in our democratic process and will show him the respect he duly deserves as our nation's 45th President - same as I've always done.

No, he will not. Of course, neither was Obama or Bush.
Eewww...

Now, this ladies and gentlemen is a sore loser on both counts. Clearly, you've been bitter for 16 long years. And I see nothing but more bitterness in your immediate future. Do your stress and anxiety level a favor and do one of three things:

1) Go see your ObamaCare physician/psychiatrist and get a prescription for some anti-anxiety/anti-depression medication;

2) Go live under ground for the next 4-8 years (depending on if Trump gets re-elected); or,

3) Get out of the USA...Move to Canada, Mexico or somewhere else!

Either one works. I really don't want you to go postal and pull a John Wilks Booth or Lee Harvey Oswald, my man. It ain't worth it.

Seems to me you'll never like anyone whose elected to the big chair no matter who wins - unless, of course, that chair is the electric chair. Perhaps it's better if you just turn in your voter registration card now before you take a turn for the worst. :crazy3:

Every president since I was born has been my president, has been America's president and Trump won't change that. I may or may not like what they did. I thought some sucked and some were pretty darn good, but regardless, all were my and America's president.

Yes, he will be my President. Fortunately I retired from the Army a couple years ago so at least he won't be my Commander-in-Chief. But he is definitely going to be my President. Reality is reality regardless of how much we don't like it.

If you say so, he was elected, what I think of him or consider him to be matters only to me.

What you consider him doesn't change what he is.

What you consider him doesn't change what he is.

By law, nope it does not change that unfortunate fact.
That is far as it goes with me.
I still believe him to be what I have always said he is, works for me, we were getting scr*wed no matter who won, this way it will be quicker, good time for some Real Pain.
