If Obama thinks it's a good idea, then it is a good idea.

This would so totally get the reprobates back for what they tried to do to him.

that's a piss poor argument for putting a political hack on the supreme court

nope

he never clerked for the Supreme court or another federal judge

he wasn't at the VERY top of his class at Harvard law

He has no experience as a judge

He was not a leading constitutional law expert

He is not a nationally prominent federal appellate attorney

He would have to be disqualified to hear any issue involving legislation he signed into law and laws he voted on as a senator

He has no major scholarly articles on constitutional law

IN other words, he doesn't have any of the qualifications that last several appointees had have

Roberts was seen as the leading supreme court advocate in the USA.
Alito was not only a long (longest to be appointed to USSC IIRC) federal appellate career as a judge, he also was a highly rated US attorney for NJ
Kagan was a bit thinner but she was the SG and Provost of Harvard Law-
Sotomayor had several years on court of appeals.

President Taft did not have experience, yet he was appointed to SCOTUS after he was out of office.

Revenge is always a good strategy.

You really don't give a **** about your country do you? So long at the "liberals' get what's coming to them.

An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind.

You just keep doing your best to divide the country...it seems that's what the right is all about.....I mean you did choose the most divisive candidate in the history of the country and you STILL want revenge. **** am I glad I don't live in your country.
The GOP should have had hearings on Garland. If if it was just a kangaroo court, the hearings should have been had. The GOP ****ed up big time. You can't hold up the Supreme Court Justice for over a year and then put the full might of the entire GOP behind Trump just because you're butthurt that JEB! and KASICH got schooled. When Trump became the guy the GOP should have embraced him, warts and all. Now Garland is definitely getting rescinded if Hillary wins and if Obama gets the nomination it'll be exactly what the GOP deserves. The Supreme Court should have been THE GOP RALLYING CRY. I used to think the GOP was good at tactics considering how much Bush got away with but that must have been a blip.

President Taft did not have experience, yet he was appointed to SCOTUS after he was out of office.

that might be relevant about 100 years ago. We also had a president who never went to college either.

Did you miss this point

HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY OF THE QUALIFICATIONS that the LAST SEVERAL appointees have.

Like it or not we should have the very best and the brightest on the supreme court. People like Alito who was top of his class at Princeton and Yale law and then was a well respected federal prosecutor and well respected federal judge. Or Roberts-who graduated first in his HS, College and a law school class-was regarded as the TOP supreme court advocate in the country and then was a DC court of appeals judge. Even Sotomayor has a far better record than obamas-she was summa cum laude in college (Princeton IIRC) top of her class at yale law, and then had years as a federal court of appeals judge. The one thing Obama has was president of the Harvard LR but he didn't publish a significant note. And he didn't clerk for a federal judge. He has never argued a case before a major federal court, has never tried a federal jury trial, never filed a brief with the USSC, etc. And who knows what his collegiate academic record was

I'm genuinely shocked that someone would regard a SCOTUS pick as retaliation.

And that president made the decision that changed the world. For some education is overrated.

i recall hearing similar sentiments as a kid when when a coarse, foul-mouthed, anything but genteel LBJ became president immediately after the days of camelot

He was before my time. I really don't know anything about him as a person, though I did hear he could swear up a storm in private.

If rats have any integrity they would reject him because he is clearly unqualified.

Rats...integrity....

I could see her doing it.

Obama isn't William Taft.

What if President Clinton were to nominate Barrack Obama to the Supreme Court?

He is a professor of Constitutional Law.
And he has the experience and wisdom of having a Presidential perspective for 8 years.

Would you approve of this or disapprove?

Did you just use "Barack Obama" and "wisdom" in the same general idea?

Lots of people may call Obama lots of things, but WISE has never been one of them.

At least not until right now.

It is your opinion, and I will not say any more, as I will honor that opinion, even if I disagree with it.

Don't get me wrong - I've got a very high opinion of Obama - I think he's the fourth-best president in our history (behind Lincoln, Washington, and FDR)...but for all his knowledge of constitutional law, he's got zero experience as a judge.
