NeverTrumpers Who Are You Voting For?

There was write in option. How is that confusing?

I'm not confused in the least, dear 'moderate' friend from Belleville, NJ.

Would you like for me to repeat my response to this vapid, useless thread?
Because I will if you would like for me to.

;)

That is actually not even on my list of issues that I vote on, but to each his own.

1/3 of my generation was murdered by our parents before we even learned how to laugh. It is the worst thing that we as a nation do.

Lincoln once answered the bloodiness of the Civil War by saying that, perhaps, as penance, a drop of blood was being demanded for America for every drop of blood whipped from a Slave's back. If a nuclear weapon detonates in a major US city and murders tens of millions of people tonight, it is no more than we justly deserve.

I will not be part of any party that is party to it. My soul is not worth being part of an Earthly Cool Kids' Club.

I think if you have been paying attention you will understand that while i am hard core pro choice, its not a seminal issue for me. Furthermore I believe that Roe v Wade is too established to be changed at the court level. I also think Trump isn't a real right to lifer

But you said you didn't hear anyone try to argue this point and Trump did. Abortion does not enter my mind when I vote, but even that made me cringe.

I'm confused, why do you think the option of Write-In (Please specify) is useless?

Which he immediately walked back, changed several times, and then ended up on the position of "leave the laws where they are". Because Trump isn't a pro-lifer. He's what he's always been - an extremist Pro Choicer. Which is why he said what he did - because that's how Pro-Choicers think Pro-Lifers all think.

Yup. That'e exactly what I thought when he did that and that solidified my choice as a NeverTrumper. Like I said, I don't vote on abortion, never have never will, but that made me cringe. It was like mocking people who are pro-life.

I really don't see Trump as being a hard core right to lifer

I said convincingly argue why Society is better off jailing or punishing women for abortion or making safe legal abortions a thing of the past. Most of the things we make illegal make sense (some don't and I have little use for victimless crimes). We make murder and robbery illegal because if they weren't society would cease to exist- example, if society doesn't make murder illegal, the friends of a murder victim will engage in vendetta and kill the murderer if they can. This leads to anarchy. same thing with theft, rape, robbery, assault etc. Who is going to objectively get upset if abortion is not banned? Mainly MEN who don't like women having that power. But the only people who have a valid reason to be aggrieved are the parents. and yes, I can see a point of a man who wants to have a child and that child is aborted by the mother (think of the scene in the Godfather movie where Michael Coreleone is told that his wife aborted their child).

But he just said that to please the people who do think this at the time he said it. Then he stayed away from most if not all social issues.

I'm more of a Whig if any party fits me or a Blue-dog democrat.

when I grew up almost everyone I knew were Yeller dog Democrats. they would vote for an old yeller dog before voting for a Republican. How times have changed.

I was NeverTrump but then Hillary won me over in the first debate. I would have probably voted for Jon Huntsman or John Kasich had things been different.

Jon Huntsman would have been an ok choice. I don't like where he stands on illegal immigration and I abhor his Support of Free Trade.

I have a friend at work who intends to write in "Pet Rock" for President. His argument (roughly) runs:

1. Pet Rock will never lie to you. Or anyone.
2. Pet Rock is not a felon, and will never commit a felony.
3. Pet Rock has no scandals. At all.
4. Pet Rock has never failed to perform exactly the job it was made for. Pet Rock is 100% reliable.
5. Those supporting Pet Rock will never have to swallow their pride/conscience in order to try to defend something indefensible that Pet Rock has done.

Pet Rock 2016.

I like it. I totally agree, Pet rock for president.

I find the entire PREMISE of the original thread to be vapid and useless.

I'm not a 'never Trumper'.
But I know this for a fact;
The Never-Trumpers, by and large, will stay at home this November.

They will not be able to bring themselves to vote for Gary Johnson, (a flash-in the pan dope-smoker who will probably get 300,000 votes total),
they have never even heard of McMullin nor Jill Stein (let's admit that much)
and they, like me,
would rather vote for
the pus-filled bandaid on the toe of a homeless guy
before they would ever vote for the crooked, dishonest, unaccomplished, and utterly-unaccountable Hillary Clinton.

It's obvious;
The majority of 'never-Trumpers' will stay home this November, and they won't vote at all.

As for me, I will line up at 06:45 am on election day, and I will vote for anybody who is still left alive and still on the ballot who is NOT Hillary Clinton.

Thanks for indulging me this, my delicious pleasure at denigrating the crooked, dishonest Hillary Clinton.

You have been a real gent for allowing me this platform for venting so honestly and happily.
;)

It was probably some pandering on his part.

McMullin is within striking distance of winning Utah. He's higher than Johnson on 538's running of the numbers. He's had a string of high-profile endorsements lately from relatively big "conservative thinker" types, etc.

Most #NeverTrumpers are pretty clued in - thats' why they are #NeverTrump in the first place. Johnson will do well, McMullin will do well, Castle will do well, all of them, relative to the baseline of usual 3rd party performance, will do well. It's the swing-voters that Trump is turning off en masse who are costing him the election.

McMullin won't be on the ballot on my state. Which is why I am writing him in. :)

There really only needs to be two options:
A) Hillary Clinton
B) Who Cares

I'm proud of you.

I'm proud of you for NOT voting for Hillary Clinton.

 I wouldn't feel any better voting for her than I would for Trump

If both Hillary and The Donald passed away tonight from food poisoning, nobody would be happier than I, good sir.

I don't believe I've lived through a Presidential election when someone other than the main two party candidates won a state. When did that happen last?

Lady Liberty would be crying great tears of joy while Bald Eagles circled above singing Hosanna's.

Huh. Probably George Wallace.

Checked: Yup

And tiny babies would suckle contentedly at the teat of truth and justice, the whole while cows mooing peacefully in the meadow.

Those of us who are Republicans in the NeverTrump movement and still are. Are you willing to vote third party? Or are you actually willing to vote Hillary?

I guess Democrats who don't like Hillary can vote in this thread too!

Personally Evan McMullin is a really intriguing choice and he is a write in candidate in NJ!

The only Never Trumpers are the 1/2% Republican aristocracy who don't want to lose their power over the GOP. Most wont vote at all.

I'm voting for Clinton. I'm emphatically not a libertarian so Johnson isn't really a candidate for me, but I respect people who are voting for him or McMillan as a way to vent their principles and displeasure.
