All day today rumors have been flying on political sites that Pence will drop from the GOP ticket. Nothing reliable yet, just rumors. But those rumors seem to have been strengthened, as Pence's complete schedule has now been removed from the Trump for President site, and Pence is a no-show at an event in Wisconsin, after Ryan disinvited Trump from the event, but still kept the invitation open for Pence.

So here is a poll - Is Pence going to drop out during the next week, or are all the rumors that he will drop out BS?

Republican leaders think that Pence dropping out would put pressure on Trump to end his campaign. These guys are on drugs. Trump would get revenge on the party by taking the whole Republican boat to the bottom of the sea. He has zero allegiance to the very people who tried to NeverTrump his campaign earlier in the year.

And Pence? If he walks away, a segment of the party will hate him for making a bad situation worse. Pence is wedded to Trump, for better or worse. Probably worse.

Don't know. If he is thinking about it he will wait until after the debate to see how things go.

No. He put out a pretty convincing message that he won't drop out. And his schedule is back.

I have no idea why Trump chose him for his VP. All I know about this guy is bad stuff. Could be time for a "you're fired" moment. How did Trump build his career? I thought it was by choosing someone better than the last candidate.

He needed solid conservative credentials and someone with a whole different kind of personality, well, he got the albino creep from Davinci's code (or he looks like him and is almost as religious).

Donald I think listened to advisors when he picked him IMHO.

It's too late for such thoughts. He's made his bed.

Yeah, looks like one South Carolina event was cancelled due to inclement weather (duh!), and he has another on Monday. Nothing past that, though.

many Republicans who didn't support Trump in the Primaries claimed that much of Trump's support came from both Hillary fans who voted for him to win the primary and those who are upset with the GOP leadership and wanted to stick it to the GOP

I tend to believe there was some truth in that. Pence is toast if he does that in terms of a future career in politics. I think so is Kasich for refusing to endorse Trump. Kasich is term limited after his stint as governor is up. Some think he will run against Sherrod Brown whose second term in the senate expires in two years. hard to say how that will turn out. If Hillary wins, that makes Kasich the favorite in 2018. If Hillary loses, Brown is the favorite

Pence is in a terrible predicament.

His only hope is one of the major networks pick him and Trump up for another Odd Couple sitcom.

Hm I had not seen this chatter until just now when I read this poll, or at least I never saw they were saying Pence is dropping out! I just looked into it now. To me, it looks like the opposite may be happening here. Many Republicans (myself included) have called for Pence to step up and take over the ticket. After all, it's what a VP does, ya know!

The cancelling of Official Trump or ticket campaign events is telling in this way. As well as the fact that in all the reports about Damage Control, Pence is NOT included in the discussions happening in Trump Tower. That tells me that Pence is essentially running his own ship (as lots of VPs hardly interact with their Presidents) and has gone to the Republican leadership to ask what to do. I was shocked that the leadership (Ryan/Priebus) has not undendorsed Trump as of this moment. So perhaps they are waiting until Monday, after the debate.

So far Trump has not said he is not going to debate, and is dropping out. So it's all systems go at the moment. Developing... Needless to say

Pence will most likely wait for tonight's debate before he weighs his options. A strong Trump performance may resuscitate the campaign, in which case he'd stick around for November, but a repetition of the last debate would signal to all on board to abandon the ship.
