If Hillary cant go who takes over[W:38]

Who should replace Hillary?

  • Total voters
    47
  • Poll closed .
If such a scenario were to happen, I believe Kaine would still remain the nominee for VP and so many delegates from each state would meet and vote for a new presidential nominee. My guess would be Biden.

But it isn't going to happen because they would place Hillary in an iron lung on a gurney and push her across the finish line and into the winner's circle if that's what it takes.

Re: If Hillary cant go who takes over

probably not but the speculation is what if she suffers a medical emergency that forces her out-like a crippling stroke or a heart attack that puts her in a coma She's too power hungry to give it up. it would have to be almost complete incapacitation

After all she has done and become with this goal only in her sight, she won't give up her candidacy unless the decision is made for her.

Re: If Hillary cant go who takes over

Our '24 hour news cycle' IMO has become about 23 hours too long.
The screw (national problem) driven home (solution?)
24 hour of news is excessive ..of course , it seems like one hour of ''news'' and 23 hours of advertising..

Re: If Hillary cant go who takes over

I predict that if ballot access actually became an issue for either party both the legislatures and the courts would be willing to be flexible to ensure that we don't have a single party election. Further, many states have ballot succession provisions for Vice Presidential candidates but I'm not sure if every state has them. So if Pence or Kaine succeeded to the ticket this probably wouldn't be a major issue.

I don't think it would be that easy. At least one State has already printed the ballots and started early voting. Many of the other States have already passes their deadline for replacing the candidate. By the end of this month it will be too late to replace the candidate in 40 States.

What you said has some validity. The liberal Courts can be safely relied on to ignore the laws and allow for the substitution. The rest of the Courts will be more likely to uphold the law.

I would expect that the hopeless States (overwhelmingly slanted towards one party or the other) would just let things pass. But in swing States, I would expect the GOP to try to tie things up in the Courts with appeals and such. But then again, that would require a party with a spine; not something the GOP is known for.

Let's say for the sake of argument that Hillary announces on Sep 20 that due to health reasons she needs to drop out. Who would be the most sensible for the D's and we will hope best for the nation replacement?

Sanders

Kaine

Warren

Biden

Other

I go with Kaine. I think Hillary picked him because he could do the job, she knew when she picked him that her VP very well might need to take over, and I think she did this right.

I vote for Kane.:2wave:

Assuming for argument's sake that this might happen (which I seriously doubt).

Sanders.
After Clinton he got by far the most votes and support, so it seems the most reasonable option.

That said, if we're going by standard progression, the VPOTUS takes over for the POTUS - and while neither are elected yet, perhaps the Democrats would follow this idea.

Still, could Kaine really campaign successfully against Trump? He's relatively unknown, I suspect.

I think America is done for now with voting for the one we are convinced can win, we have long allowed ourselves to be talked into doing just that but we have seen that it does not make a tinkers damn bit of difference who wins if who wins is not working for us, all of America. We have stayed largely silent as Obama makes it very clear that Obama views himself as the leader of only those of us who will agree with him, made it oh so very clear than he has no desire to be the President of all Americans. We stayed silent because of the thought and language controls, we largely dont feel free to say that he is wrong because of his claim that he is a black man, but the mind control programs have not yet been effective, we still think it. When America has gone so very wrong we lose interest in the squabbles of the DC ELITE, those losers who have long lied to us and done nothing as American falls but play their useless games and make themselves and their friends rich and powerful.

Well, for myself, I had hoped Sanders would win the candidacy.

But I think there is some wishful thinking going on among Sanders fans - a few months ago it was "clinton will go to jail, then sanders can take over", and now it's her health.

Frankly, I think the Dems are going to run Clinton even if she is literally on life support.
