The core concept of The Matrix is a very philisophical one.

It comes down to this:

What type of person are you? Do you desire to stay happy, blissful and ignorant of reality (blue pill) or do you desire to find the hard truths that may be very uncomfortable and ultimately pointless (red pill)?

Remember, you can only choose one.

Ironically, I feel like the polling will inherently skew the results. I'll have to make a non poll edition at a later date.

This is a real argument. With both options justifiable. I'm just asking that you be honest with yourself before you vote. That is the intention of this poll.

I will say this. Most people in our society are blue pillers, and I think those obsessed with politics are often of this caliber simply because the people running the world have it constructed the world this way and its human nature to stay happy and blissful, its survival actually.

I'll take the red pill. I hear the little blue pills can give you an erection lasting 4 hours.

Its interesting that The Matrix gets the credit for this supposedly deep philosophical question. A similar proposition was put forth in the very beginning of the bible.

Yes there is a huge difference, in that the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil was forbidden, and it was a coercion by an "evil" force that made Eve partake of the forbidden fruit, which makes the premis of knowledge an "evil" trait, which is something that permeates still today in some religious circles.

But the overall choice between blissful ignorance and knowledge of the truth is not a concept unique to The Matrix.

I think its interesting(and good) that so many would willigly partake of the "forbidden fruit" these days. Myself included.
