Any terrorist who would actually do that is probably more of a danger to himself than every one else.

But to answer the question - no. And not for discrimination reasons. Your question is predicated on the "if you see something, say something" trope. That is amateur hour. Most real security professionals call that one of the more stupid things about the so called war on terror.

Nor would I if a skinhead came in and did the same - if that matters.

And besides baking is too damn regimented. Everything has to be just so or the cake doesn't happen. I much prefer improvising and throwing **** together and surprising myself - and the family - with what comes out the other end.

Personally, I would be too stressed out by cake-making seeing as the profession seems to be the central battleground of America's culture war.

No, of course not. It's a cake. People want all sorts of decorations on them, some are not nice or in good taste, but it's no indication of criminal intent or activity. As such, it would be my business to make a cake and that's the end of it. If he's truly dangerous, the NSA or someone should have them on a list somewhere.

I have to agree.
I really think a terrorist planning an attack is not going to be stupid enough ask for a birthday with drawings of a terrorist attack on it.
 
voting so far is 10-2 in favor of calling the police. I didn't say they should be arrested. I merely said let the police investigate and make the decision. This is one of those cases where it is better to be safe than find out after the fact that maybe you could have prevented 100 people being killed and you were silent because you didn't want to discriminate.

Calling the authorities because someone wants a drawing of a terrorist attack on a cake is not the same as discriminating against them
Other than that what's your point?
I think in this day and age people are willing to report suspicious behaviour.
That does not mean if they don't the reason is because they don't want to discriminate.

I disagree. I alluded to professional security people who say that the "if you see something say something" is wrongheaded. It's wrongheaded because in the overwhelming majority of cases what gets reported is completely innocent and police manpower is taken away from doing something useful that might actually save someone's life to chase down completely innocent leads. Police are a finite resource and we can't really afford to have the deal with nervous nellies who call them because someone with dark skin looked at them funny and they assume that they must be terrorists.

I remember when people used to be scolded for being a tattletale. Now turning narc is the cool thing to do. But being some smarmy smartass and wanting to put some non-PC and potentially offensive decorations on a cake is no indication of criminal behavior. We going to run to the government now every time we get a little startled?
