Third Party Candidates

Which third party candidate are you most interested in?

Yes.

It rained, JC, and since it wasn't much fun sitting on our chairs under umbrellas, we didn't stay long. Sad...

That sucks. I had a giant fireworks display in my neighborhood. It sounded like a war-zone out there. :)

Three years ago, I was in the Houston area for the 4th - it sounded like that then, too!

I can only imagine what kind of headway we would make as a nation if more voters had that mentality.

It's hard when most voters believe the propaganda that voting third party is a wasted vote because he can't win. That becomes a self fulfilling prophesy. Besides, the R and the D will have a billion or more dollars each to persuade those who dislike both candidates to vote for the lesser of two evils. Candidates like Johnson and Stein can't combat that, not with a million or two up against 3 billion or more.

Perhaps in the end everyone loves the status quo, loves the business as usual the two major parties bring to the table. Both owe their heart and soul to huge corporations, Wall Street Firms, lobbyists, special interests, mega money donors etc. So nothing changes, only get worst and most voters actually believe there is a huge difference. Not really when one watches how they govern, when on doesn't listen to the rhetoric, just watches. Then one learns. I suppose the bottom line is we have the best government money can buy.

It's always like that down here, at least where I live. But I know my neighborhood got some complaints about the fireworks display, becuase it might have affected veterans with PTSD (with the loud, booming noises and all).

Aww, sorry about that. :damn At least your Indians won!

One of the TV channels was running non-stop Jaws movies, and they were just as scary watching them last night as it was when they first came out! We kept switching back and forth to see how the Indians were doing...

I think I'm with you Pero, I'm going to go with Gary Johnson as well. I'm actually surprised there isn't more support for him yet.

As I posted earlier, it boils down to money, money, name recognition and the selling of propaganda of the two major parties. "Voting for a third party candidate is a wasted vote, they can't win." Millions buy into that. Instead they throw their vote at the perceived lesser of two evils and vote the R or the D.

How is it a monarchy? We get to decide if we want a Bush or a Clinton to govern over us, and every now and then they let a guy in from the little leagues! That's a TON of freedom right there!

Monarchy in that we are ruled without any real say in the matter...

Jaws 4 was about the most stupid movie ever made... Jaws, the shark, follows them from that island by New York as they fly in a plane down to the Bahama's!!!

Kinda like the Transformers movies (Bayformers). I can't believe those movies make the mountains of money that they do.
