Tulsi Gabbard is going to likely become a large, serious progressive candidate with the backing of the Left. We'll see how her career progresses over the next 12 years, but so far it looks promising. She definitely made a name for herself during this primary, and put herself on the progressive agenda. In 12 years, a Grayson-Gabbard duo seems like a nice possibility.

On the whole though, I wish Green's would start occupying Democrats. Long term, I think that reforming Democrats with small dollar donations while working towards campaign finance reform --all while the Republicans continue imploding-- is the most likely and quickest way towards progressive policies being implemented.

I have to think with all the goings on this election cycle with both parties, that change is coming. Both sides seem to have more of a divisiveness than the leadership wants to admit. The GOP is split between the religious right and the more moderate socially liberal, fiscal conservatives while the democrats are divided between an establishment and the progressives. The under 35 crowd dislikes the idea of a two party system. Some polls are showing third parties getting more than 20% of the vote so far. I know a lot of kids that have no problem voting for Johnson or Stein even if it allows Trump to win. They are angry and want a change even if its negative and would force people to take notice and stop the status quo. Consider how close the polling is between Trump and Clinton currently even after all that's been said. Both are viewed as very negative. If Clinton should lose its going to force the dems to come to terms with their moving too far right. If Trump loses, the GOP is going to have to come to realize that they need to try to appeal to a bigger tent. Neither side wants to come to terms with their realities.
 
Is there any law or something that I don't know about preventing Biden from being VP again?

Don't think so. He would be an interesting choice. Although I keep hearing people say they want younger choices for future runs. We haven't had that for decades. Usually they are too old to run by the time they can.

Hillary isn't better than Trump. Hillary is being investigated by the FBI. The very thing she told America was: People being investigated by the FBI should not be allowed to own a gun. So in turn, people being investigated by the FBI should be able to run the military and have nuclear codes?

The left is so incredibly blind it's pathetic.

Yes, I agree trump is ridiculous, but saying Hillary is better than anyone is a flat out lie. Don't insult true Democrats.

For me this has all come down to who Trump will pick for his VP and to a smaller extent, Hillary.

Definitely going to matter for a lot of independents and undecideds. If Trump pulls off a surprise pick, maybe a Tim Scott or a John Thune, it could help him a lot. A Newt Gingrich or Jeff Sessions not so much.
 
How about Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, or Cal?

God isn't that the truth. I stayed with my aunt and uncle a little bit ago, and they're tenuous Hillary supporters and apparently largely anti-Bernie (even though they like what he stands for --go figure). It was an interesting conversation. The Hillary crowd has been building up this rather contrived idea that they essentially quashed the Bernie rebellion. The Hillary supporters seem to think that this is overtly true (I think in no small part because they've been told by CNN, MSNBC, CBS, et al, that it will be "terrifying" if the Sanders movement wins out).

In fact, the perspective --which I pretty much knew already, but it's nice to get very explicit confirmation-- that the >45 crowd has is that they stopped young people from making a terrible mistake, although they're really damned if they can express and enunciate what precisely it is that is terrible about Sanders. It's pretty incoherent nonsense that takes about 5 minutes to debunk, or at least it did for me. My aunt and uncle are intelligent people, so they at least listened and conceded specific issues I raised in general, but overall there's definite notion --as near as I can tell wholly coming from corporate news-- that if the beat the Sanders movement, and if they wait long enough, it'll just go away.

My guess is, however, that Clinton isn't stupid enough to fall for the lies that the media concocted. I suspect that there's even odds that Hillary will start capitulating with Sanders and his supporters versus that her continuing to do Wall Street's biddings. Sanders' movement is hard to ignore if you're actually running for office. If she's daft enough to march against Trump without us, she deserves whatever she gets.

There seems to be this huge disconnect on both sides. The GOP has been at it since the tea party came to be and they have been struggling with their divisions. The dems seem to be trying to sweep their division under the rug. I have a friend who has for the last 10 years or so has been talking about how we need single payer, how the Iraq war was disastrous and how Wall Street is horrific and campaign money needs to be reigned in. Well her daughter had been watching and learning this whole time. Come time for our primary, the daughter who now is 19, proudly tells her mom she is a Sanders supporter expecting her mom to be thrilled. Instead her mom got angry and told her how Hillary would be much better. Her daughter was profoundly confused after hearing her parents for most of her life rail against everything Hillary stood for. Now they are still at odds because the daughter is now supporting Jill Stein. Its just an example of the strange way the establishment seems to have a hold of some people.
Now regarding the OP, I don't think Kaine as a VP choice is going to be bringing in a lot of progressives. But who knows? With Trump in this race, odds are good anybody could defeat him.
