May be in this day and age of incompetent politicians that could be a plus.

Out of control egos has always been a part of the political landscape. I can't imagine the amount of ego that every single person who has ever ran for president must have. Dunno. It just gets wackery by the year.

No, its not dementia. Trump is a largely non-ideological guy who is more comfortable on the left but is trying to fit in on the right. He has thought out virtually no political positions which is why they seem to change from day to day. He is not a republican and not a democrat. He is a loud mouth who through the virtue of his celebrity and a weak field has taken over the republican nomination. But he is not running as a republican, he has not embraced republican ideals. In fact he is doing the opposite. He no campaign infrastructure and is not working with the party in any real sense. He is essentially using the republican party apparatus to run as an independent. While a Trump implosion would devastate the republican party and put Hillary in the White House, it might just be a Godsend for the libertarian party who just might be able to capitalize on the fact that the major parties are running such awful alternatives.
I think it's going to be a Godsend for the Republican Party, in a long term sense. They've been flailing about for several years now, with what little direction they've had being misguided. Trump will be seen as the focal point of the Party implosion. It'll take several years for it to recover, but in the end the Rep Party will be stronger than ever.

I am not saying he is. But sometimes when he talks and I realize his age, the thought does occur to me for a few seconds.

I am assuming he is probably fine...but I wondered what everyone else thinks.

No.

Donald Trump appears to be a classic sociopath. On the one hand he believes he is more intelligent than everyone else, while being insecure about that intelligence to the point he reacts harshly to any form of even mild criticism.

Born filthy rich, he has had his way in all things all his life. But, has serious and deep rooted anger issues that cause him to erupt when under attack or being questioned in any way. He is violent at the core, and he has one issue: him.

He doesn't know anything about politics, or the consequences of his words and actions. He answers to no one, even the "apology" to the Mexican-American judge transferred blame to others: "I am sorry my words were taken out of context..." which is blaming the listener.

"fine" is a relative term. One can be fine and still start an un-necessary nuclear war.

Early dementia? Not at all. What we have is an old man whose development stopped at age 15.

no but I have never seen anyone since bush lie and keep a straight face the way the Donald does it.... he stood right up on stage and said the Florida shooter was born in afganistan
