It is not a lifestyle that should be advertised. There are laws in effect that protect them. I try to ignore them because they are such wicked victims, or so they have everyone thinking.

Children, no.

Should homosexuals have to take a parenting test prior to adopting?

All prospective adoptive parents should undergo the same investigation procedures to best ensure and safeguard the interests of children.

Do heterosexuals have to take a parenting test when they bring a child home? Do heterosexual parents have to be screened and checked out before they bring their child home? They should there is a tremendous amount of child abuse going on in the United States. I think the heterosexuals should have to be tested if the homosexuals should. Oh and what would you do with a lesbian birth mother? Would a lesbian birth mother need to be checked out. The conservatives fear over LGBTQ people is at the first rung of asinine.

hmmm... good point. shouldn't they have to prove that they can change diapers and not let the baby sleep on its stomach though? Stuff like that?

Why? We don't have to do that to take our children home from the hospital. Why should adopting parents have to do that? And the sad part is, in some places, all adopting parents do have to prove that they are better than parents who, in many cases, accidentally make a baby.

But they can't have kids...

Yes they can, at least the same ways that some heterosexuals do. Especially lesbians. Ever heard of sperm donations? Same thing as if an opposite sex couple used it to get the woman pregnant.

I voted yes, but to be fair, I think any couple adopting should take a test to prove they can fulfil the role. It's not so much about the genders or relationship defination of whatever pc term, as just making sure those that wish to be a parent understand atleast the basics of the job.

Sadly, too many parents don't understand the basics of the job. In my own limited observation of adoption, including foreign adoptions, adoptive parents seem more informed and eager to be good parents than ordinary biological parents.

And as parent myself, what I believe is that what every child needs is deserves a parent/preferably parents plural who are willing and loving and responsible.

Homosexuality isn't "catching"; most gay folks have straight parents. ;)

I think homosexuals can make fantastic or lousy parents for adopted children (just like everyone else).

However, if there was one question I would ask them it would be; 'do you believe that everyone is homosexual - whether they know it or not?'

If they answer 'yes', then they should not adopt as this tells me that they might deliberately try and steer their children into homosexuality due to their believe that we are all gay inside.

If they believe otherwise, then adopt away.

Same goes for straight parents btw. If they believe that no one is gay 'naturally' and it is just something wrong with them mentally, I don't think they should adopt either. Parents should allow their children to live their own lives AND fully accept whichever sexual preference they choose.

For the record, I believe some are gay at birth but most are straight.

And I also believe that FAR more parents who adopt are lousy parents then the masses seem to think. Most are probably fine. But the percentage is not nearly as high (imo) as most people think. Though I cannot prove this. Just as NO ONE can prove I am wrong 100%.
