Only advise against it? Sigh.

Assuming it was legal, which we know it isn't, but assuming it was, what else could you do? Shoot them?

He said he would assault someone for even thinking about getting their daughter circumcised, but only advise against male circumcision. If you're willing to break the law for the one then why not the other?

I wouldn't advise breaking the law in either case. Something about the initiation of force?

I think they care about human rights in this country, but to say that these militaristic imperialist adventures subsequently undertaken abroad by the military-industrial complex are solely motivated by a compassion and love of human life...is not only wildly fabulist, it doesn't even sound correct.
You wage war to kill people and claim territory and resources.
And that is that.

I wouldn't approve of violence at that point either. I would however have no problem with violence to stop it from taking place later on.

Colin Powell: “We have gone forth from our shores repeatedly over the last hundred years and we’ve done this as recently as the last year in Afghanistan and put wonderful young men and women at risk, many of whom have lost their lives, and we have asked for nothing except enough ground to bury them in, and otherwise we have returned home to seek our own, you know, to seek our own lives in peace, to live our own lives in peace. But there comes a time when soft power or talking with evil will not work where, unfortunately, hard power is the only thing that works.”

Cutting a girl's clitoris off is a whole other level of disgusting mutilation as compared to removing a males foreskin..

No ****

I find it extremely disconcerting and scandalous that the U.S, with its domestic and foreign record on human rights, has been championing the cause of human dignity and liberty for the past few decades. The country that mass incarcerates minorities as a form of political suppression and slave labor and in which candidates score political points by promising to carpet-bomb entire cities has the audacity to pontificate to others about human rights and respect for human life.

All of this. ^

If you actually believe the U.S. government cares about you to any degree you are painfully and pitifully gullible, to the point I'd almost advocate you being locked up to protect yourself from yourself, ironically enough.

But, I can use any bathroom I want now.

Largely only when expedient (as is the case for most countries), but this wasn't an option sadly.

That said, there are plenty of countries that are worse in this regard.
