Is Illegal Immigration Actually a REAL Problem?

Is Illegal Immigration Actually a REAL Problem?

There's a difference between increasing the amount of labor and just increasing the number of bodies. When you're talking about people who are largely unskilled and uneducated, who come here wanting things, not wanting to make something of themselves, that's not particularly helpful.

Let them flip hamburgers and free expensively educated indigenous kids for better jobs. We have certainly spent enough tax money on them.

They may not know what it is explicitly, but that's what they keep voting for.

On please, Republicans have pandered on immigration like no one's business. Jeb Bush has called immigration "an act of love." Marco Rubio supported amnesty. None have been able to do anything to secure the border. All that we've gotten since the Eisenhower administration has been lip service, and then no action when they get into office.

They were/are able to secure the Border, but they chose/choose NOT to.

Well at least you're honest about it.

Sorry, but open borders isn't a reasonable way forward. You can see the EU experiment and it's results, and well as it's withdrawal (at least from what I recall off hand - specifically the Middle East migrant flood - now they are stuck on Greece with no way off, and Greece can't afford to keep them - so back they are going to go). No reason to repeat the same failed experiment on the US / Mexico border.

By definition, you aren't a sovereign nation any more once you've given up on control of your border.

The US already has conducted this same failed experiment.

It {Amnesty} failed the last time we did it, only an idiot would sponsor such an idea again.

Then Rubio, (and many Politicians) IS an Idiot.

Giving 3 Million Illega;ls Amnesty was Reagan's biggest single mistake....and the Feds then compounded the problem(s) by FAILING to enforce existing US Imm. Laws afterward, and this failure continues to this day.

Talk IS cheap, esp. on the campaign Trail...even some the GOP Candidates have talked about giving Illegals "Legal Status" which is just Dem-speak for Amnesty. It's obvious, our Congress doesn't give a damn about the people's best interests, and IF they had the 'Political Will' (backbone, etc.) and though they could get away with it, they'd pass Amnesty in a heartbeat.

I vote that illegal immigration is a real problem and here is why. One: the cost to the American taxpayer in health care, social services cost and education cost. Two: the cost of jobs to other minority groups especially blacks and to legal immigrates.

Remember the illegal immigrate problem is not just Latinos but also various types of over stayed visas and Chinese illegals as well.

Duh, I'm a thief.

Fine. Doesn't change the obvious fact that the US needs to stop repeating this failed experiment.

I do not understand. All across the world we see countries which have well protected borders. The US, in the middle of a decades long war on terrorists, but are completely cool with letting anyone with any disease, carrying any kind of weapon simply stroll in in apparent comfort. You check every person getting on an airplane and we have all heard about the severely intrusive **** the boneheads of Homeland Security at airports and train stations. But here's these losers, looters and thieves and more or less you roll out the carpet for them.

I figure a whole lot of people on both sides of the aisle have a lot to gain by allowing this stupid **** to continue. Maybe the Democrats DO get a lift, and maybe guys like Trump get cheap labor

They can flip burgers in their own country. We have plenty of people here already who can do it.

5 immigration myths debunked - Nov. 20, 2014

Other than being a political hatchet to throw at others, and perhaps a moral/ethical talking point, is illegal immigration into the USofA actually a real problem?

Seriously.

People like to rail about it like it's worse than the deadliest plague to ever hit mankind. It's an "invasion".

But seriously, does it really HURT the USofA?

Or is it manufactured propaganda designed to incite and divide political ideologies and nothing more?
I don't believe it is the major overriding problem many people portray it as, but it is a problem that needs to be addressed.

"I speed from time to time."

"So, you condone serial rape and murder, too?"

Where the eff do you people come up with this crap?
