If Trump were to get into office I can see him calling congressmen and women names until they do what he says. On the international stage he will mock other world leaders until the world becomes even more disgusted with America. Trump will declare minorities as the cause of all American problems furthering the divide between the people here until we revert back to the tensions we had in the 60's. Ultimately what will have is we will have extreme civil unrest, a lot more hate crimes on all sides, and world alliances and support will dwindle. Ultimately it will destroy the Republican party and the democrats will be able to do anything they want for about 8-12 years until a new 2nd party comes about.

In other words, an Obama third term?

The thing is, if he wins, I have no idea which Trump will show up to work. I don't think Trump actually believes in most of the things he has said during his campaign. But I also don't know what he actually does believe. A Trump presidency will be a total crapshoot.

As opposed to anything from the left, which will be total crap.

With the powers that come with the executive branch, of course it will be different.

Meh, not a fan of Trump, but at least he (probably) won't raise taxes and (probably) not try to further erode gun rights. Better than the dem alternatives though not as good as Rubio or Cruz.

In the recent past, he proposed both more gun control ("The America We Deserve", 2000) and higher taxes ("Time to Get Tough", 2011). And even if, against all expectations, he sticks to his campaign slogans, what are the new tariffs he promises, if not taxes on American consumers and producers who need parts and raw materials?

He has pledged to raise taxes on hedge fund managers, capital gains and dividends. Which I'm perfectly fine with. I'm NOT fine with raising taxes on the middle class, who is already struggling to provide the discretionary spending needed to fuel our economy.

I think it will be interesting when the first negotiation comes up of his Presidency. His ego won't let him lose or take less than what he wants, so the dance will be interesting to watch.d

Imagine his Secretary of state coming back and saying we are giving all and getting nothing.

What would he do?

Yeah, taxing the other guy is always fine. Pfft.

I suspect that Trump would be a better President than either Rubio or Cruz, both of who would try to ram through an ultra-right wing agenda. I think Trump would likely try to appease both sides and would play a more moderate "peace-maker" role.

A Trump Presidency would be less radical than a Rubio or Cruz.

I tend to agree, with the exception that much of what all of them say is just lip service
for the crowds.
All three have a good idea of the capabilities of the office of the President,
as well as it's limitations.

I don't see it being significantly different. If he gets elected, the republicans might have control of both houses of congress for two years at most. During the midterm elections, the Democrats will get control of at least one house. And even when the republicans have control, they won't be especially willing to work with Trump. Nor will they have enough seats to stop a filibuster in the Senate.

It will pretty much continue the status quo, only with the parties switched as to who's doing what.

Trump is a very mixed bag. I think he would do an outstanding job in many areas, making America great again. Nothing near what we have had for many years now. But, he is extremely reckless, green, and naive in foreign policy. You can't go around calling the World's leaders names and threatening to kill ISIS' families and ticking the world's Muslims off so much that it will breed even more terrorists. He is very likely to get us all into Word War III.

If he runs the country in the way he makes business deals, he'll retire the first trillionaire and the U.S. debt will be 250,000,000,000,000
