No he's NOT Running. However, every time I hear about the guy he is doing something that helps move the world forward, or he is bettering himself, or he is trying to solve a world issue/problem. He has all the makings of a President. Great looking family and with no scandals to speak of, if one day Facebook becomes as devalued as Myspace is today, or he quits as Facebook CEO, he can do wonders inside the political system.

In fact, he has already done soooo sooo much inside politics its kinda scary how much power this guy has. This of course stems from the root of his power. A social network practically everyone involved in Western culture uses!

However, in his semi-personal life, he does do more mainstream politics. From town halls with sitting Presidents and those same town halls to boost the efforts of certain candidates to quasi-political organizations such as Internet.org and fwd.us. Facebook itself has sponsored many political events and debates as well. More publicly political than Steve Jobs and Bill Gates combined. Zuckerberg is certainly none to shy about sharing and in some ways boosting his own political presence. Even though, it may be hard to pin down what if any party he belongs to. Regardless of party or political leanings, I can imagine a distant future in say, 2050s-2060s, where he runs for the highest office in the land. Can you?

If we are to use the Gilded Age as a model, it would suggest that these individuals influence politics, but don't themselves join in. They have their corporate empires to build. Their children and grand-children may, however.

At least he would know something about technology.

Does that guy have anything in his wardrobe besides undershirts.. I guess at least in that picture he was wearing a grey one instead of a plain old white undershirt like usual.

I'm pretty sure he isn't eligible to be president

I don't think so. He does have a suit, it is just rare. If you were worth billions wouldn't you wear casual attire to work if you could?

He's not 35

4 more years so technically he could run in 2020. He would get my vote if a) I could vote in america and b) it had a similar crop of candidates.

I would not trust the man who invented the largest private data-accumulation system to respect my right to privacy.

True but Trump may have changed that. Even so much as Bloomberg just thinking about getting in, that can lead to other consequences like other Billionaires thinking about maybe doing this, or other celebrities, athletes, doctors whatever. The political class may not be so closed off to these people now that we have accepted Trump, Sanders and to an extent Carson.

Potentially, but what's fascinating about the Silicon Valley class is that they have successfully molded their hi-tech free-marketism with political and social justice causes. It's another Gospel of Wealth era, but not necessarily much more than that. This seems to have more in common with Carnegie and Rockefeller than that class's much-more politically active descendents.

No, I wouldn't.
I would wear custom tailored suits every day because I finally could afford to.

Zuckerberg seems to be the most successful in that arena. Others are just louder and more idealistic, yet their ideas keep failing. I note Elon Musk with Space X and Amazon's Jeff Bezos many political tirades. These are just a few examples, but I think after Facebook's stock tumbled in the opening weeks of their IPO Zuckerberg positioned himself to to take on a more pragmatic view of the world and once he put mobile first everything changed for him and his personal politics as well. I can't begin to understand how it's all related but I've definitely seen a more mature company/person after that ONE BIG fail. Now, it seems everything he touches turns golden, and has positioned himself with the right people in order to make it happen.

Zuckerberg for President ?

Uhm....No. He was commended recently by Angela Merkel for cracking down on " Hate speech ".

Merkel doesnt understand the importance of speech as a protected Right and niether does Zuckerberg.

Then we have two very different versions of what we would do with money. You also have to remember he made his fortune in an industry where casual attire is the norm.

Hell ****ing no...

yeah cept it sound like he may not even have "invented" it if you listen to others who claim they did and he kinda stole it.

interesting that he said something to the effect that facebook users were "idiots" a few years back. is that the word he used?

anyone who would vote for him is prob not a big fan of free speech or right to privacy. just like google its all abt the $$$$$$$

They are also part of the older generation if you want a comparison, you have to compare Zuckerburg to the CEOs of the unicorns.

Well google CEO wears button up shirts and sweaters. I was just looking at Forbes 23 promising CEO's under 35 yrs old and I did find 2 of them that just wore tshirts like Zuckerberg. obviously most don't.
I just cant imagine him up there on a campaign trail in undershirts.
