Simple question. Is Bernie Sanders the worst Presidential Candidate in history?

I am unsure if he is the worst. It would be difficult to beat George McGovern.

If I could leave the answer with "no," I would.

Not at all. He's ran a great campaign on populist ideas. Just as Donald trump. Both are good candidates.

I won't be voting for him, but I could name about 10 Republican candidates from the last three elections alone I would call worse candidates. On the democratic side, I think O'Malley, Webb, and Chafee were worse candidates.

Why do you think he's even in the conversation? The dreaded "socialist" label?

I should have been more specific. These are Presidential Candidates that had a legitimate shot at becoming President. Polling 1% is not legitimate imo.

I'd wait until the campaign is over before making a decision

I think he's one of the worst mainly on the fact that he sounds pretty much like a 1 issue president with that issue being "hate the rich and Wall Street, they have too much."

As far as a person he seems likable enough and has decent support.

No. Donald Trump and Carly Fiorina are tied as the worst.

Is there a 'he is the best in history' option??

I think the paranoid criminal Nixon beats McGovern.

John Kerry ran probably the worst campaign in recent history.

I'm hoping the Republican party (and voters) can nix Trump before it's too late. He is the worst in my opinion and has bull**** circular reasoning. He goes between "We will fix it by making America great again" and "We will make America great again by fixing X." He's a salty old businessman with no real substance and appeals to the high emotion and "anti-establishment" block on GOP voters. I think the only way to defeat Trump is for the others to drop and rally around 1 common candidate to be the anti-Trump. Trump has a plurality, and I'd venture to say at this point people not voting for him won't be persuaded to vote for him.

I'd love to hear the reasons for all of his fan boys. It just doesnt make sense to me why so many supposed Republicans are supporting that guy. Yeah I will vote for him if its a choice between Trump vs a lying bitch or a goofy socialist but I just don't see the support this bad hair egomaniac is getting

I think it's because they view corruption among corporate America, Wall Street, and the rich abusing the working class. Maybe not so much due to taxes or wealth envy, but some see him as a man for the every-day working American and that resonates with some Republican voters. At least that's what I think.

I think with Trump and Sanders the anti-establishment aspect and a dislike of mainstream party politicians is evident and that could be another factor.

well that's a very good analysis. its funny that a senator who has been in one public office or another for years and a corporate fat cat are seen as anti establishment

shows how gullible so many voters are

I think they have the potential to be corrupt enough given their backgrounds. I guess it may be because Sanders is "technically" not a Democrat and doesn't typically identify with the party and Trump isn't a government elected official and hasn't been. Still given their background I don't see them as "anti-establishment." Neither is your typical American.

excellent two words here by you--Circular Reasoning--short, succinct, and the best description I've seen of Trump yet

Oh come on now...in history?

How the heck are we supposed to know how good candidates were in the nineteenth century - let alone the eighteenth century?

Why not just call the thread what you really seem to think...'I hate Bernie Sanders for POTUS...a LOT'.

Not even the worst this election cycle. Hillary and Trump are far worse.

Bernie is not even the worst in this election. Not even the worst Democrat.
