Is Susan Sontag correct?
Side question: are you happy that Susan Sontag is regularly taught to young people?
The "white race" (aka Europeans) was the first group to invent and/or implement crucial technologies that allowed it to dominate the rest of the world with an impact that lasted and continues to last for centuries. And finally Europeans (in our case the English) was able to take an entire continent, North America, swiftly and unimpeded because of a mixture of superior technology and the eradication of any Native resistance due to disease. This is why there's a saying that if you're born white and in the United States you just drew the biggest winning lottery ticket in the world. So is the "white race" the "cancer of the world?" Well, to be sure the rest of the world did not fare especially well when it met with European powers, but white people are no more intrinsically responsible for negative behavior due to their skin pigmentation than a black criminal can intrinsically trace his criminality to his pigmentation.
