Oregon judge rejects Cliven Bundy’s demands: He ‘thinks he owns the refuge’

Officials in Harney County, Oregon rejected anti-government rancher Cliven Bundy’s demand that they resign for their opposition to the militant takeover of a local federal wildlife reserve.

“I think he undermined any of the legal actions his son, sons and others are doing to get released,” county Judge Steve Grasty told KOIN-TV.

The letter, composed by the Pacific Patriots Network militia group, demands not only the officials’ resignation, but that the officers involved in the shooting death of LaVoy Finicum last week be detained.

“Last night I got a tweet with a copy of the letter in it from Mr. Cliven Bundy,” Grasty said. “I looked at that and wondered what does that mean? Perhaps he thinks he owns the refuge. I don’t think that’s the case.”

In a separate letter, Bundy called for the removal of “all federal and state policing agents” from the county and stated that militants would retain control of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. He also identified himself as part of “the people of Harney County,” even though he lives in Nevada.

What a complete nutcase.

Yes 50 grand is a lower payout. And again, lottery is based on the number of numbers you need to win and the number of numbers used, not the number of people who play. However chances of getting shot/hurt/killed during a traffic stop is based on the number of people that officer pulls over, what area they are in, the climate of public opinion, the officers attitude, and other human factors that are impossible to account for.

So lets make this easy.... are you saying that if 40-100 some odd officers are killed during police stops, that it is a significant number statistically in the millions upon millions of traffic stops that occur yearly?

So much over your head.
Yep; "so much over my head"! Poe little ole me__it's a miracle that I can even feed and dress myself_

But having someone of your untold intelligence and so incredibly well informed to share all that knowledge, is so reassuring_

Like you, those frequenting MSM or watching Tina Fey on Saturday Night know how incredibly stupid that ugly Sarah Palin is_

And aren't her children a mess?! Nothing at all like the Obama's perfect little angels which never a negative word is uttered_

What would we do without such a reliable MSM to tell us who is stupid, who is smart, whose children to like and whose to hate?

Pure blather.

Yes it is enough for them to be cautious because many of those stops are made by a very small number of people and there are different reasons to stop people. Some may very well involve believing the person is dangerous.

I disagree. I think they need to worry more about getting hit by a car during traffic stop much much much more than being attacked by a motorist.

You'd think they'd figure that **** out and stop blacking out thier cruisers.

They do worry about that which is why there are laws in at least some states for other motorists to move to a farther right lane when passing an officer with someone pulled over and procedures in many departments in how to approach a vehicle stopped, dealing with all different safety issues.

yes, I am aware of those laws. Those are good. but they continue to "black out" thier cars and sit in dangerous areas.

which attributes to **** like this happening far more often than an officer being shot anywhere.

And has zero to do with whether they should be concerned when performing a stop with whether the person is armed.

For the record, I've never seen a police car like the one pictured.

They are all over the place now.

and sure it does, how come they are trained to be scared of something that statistically is very rare, meanwhile they are creating a danger more dangerous by something that is much much more common.

It's a mentality issue.

They aren't all over the place in my area nor any I've been in.

Some of that mentality is your own bias against LE coming through. I've not seen any stop where the officer had his hand on his gun from the start. Granted, I've been a part of very few stops, and since I don't drive, never personally pulled over.

Spooky: ‘Ghost’ Police Cars Haunt Motorists | News | thepilot.com

It's pretty recent but on the rise.

Bias against the police? I pro police. I think there needs to be significant reform, but that doesn't mean I am "Anti-police"...

I do admit I am anti "I wish I was a tacti-cool high speed low drag war fighter" police force, as we all should be.

"It's about time", and I'd say they positively lucked out, compared to the likely outcome if it was a group like the Black Panthers....
