I just bought more guns. :D

Why?

Cuz I wanted to, and I could. :D

so did I

bought a stag 9mm LH carbine. Why LH-its what was available and on a rifle using a scope-doesn't matter

bought a CZ custom shop SP01 Shadow-why=so my kid is using the same magazines as my wife and I do in competition and its a step up from the GLOCK

bought the wife a Kimber Micro 380=why=custom color version-for Xmas

bought 10 more PMAG 20 round Gen 3 AR 15 mags

why-because they were on sale and shipping was free

It seems that every time Mr. President opens his mouth, gun sales go up. I know a number of people who have NEVER owned guns who now own them. Every gun owner I personally know is an honest law abiding citizen and I like to keep it that way.

My Girlfriend hates guns. She will not allow one in the house.

However, a couple days after the San Bernadino murder by Muslim extremists, a bunch of us went to a mall for dinner. She shocked me saying that for the he first time in her life that she felt safer that some of the males, especially those with military experience, were likely carrying a concealed weapon.

I'm not getting into some justification for carrying weapons but her 'perception' was that she felt safer. I don't have a handgun...not getting one...and will keep my 22 hidden in the garage. Anyways, if my anti gun girlfriend is softening on the issue, I'm not surprisedif more fence sitting Americans will be getting a gun in the near future.

Advice is cheap, but I'll give you some that is useful, I hope.

You need two weapons for basic self-defense: 1. a 12-guage pump shotgun, preferably with a short(er) barrel 2. a .357 magnum revolver.

You can use many different shot-shells in the 12-guage, all the way up to the famous "Double-Ought Buck" shot and solid slugs. The .357 revolver will be far less likely to jam than any semi-automatic pistol, and it can use a very wide variety of ammunition... from simple .38-Special loads of all kinds (even rat-shot and wadcutters), to .357 cartridges fueled with "+P" powder loads.

Concealed-carry can be useful, but it can also get you in a hell of a lot of trouble with the law, oddly enough. All in all, I'd keep the weapons at home, and try very hard not to use them unless a perp actually invades or burglarizes your physical dwelling. Unless you live in a hyperliberal pesthole that has adopted laws forbidding weapons or their use for self-defense, you can escape prosecution if you shoot someone for threatening you in your physical dwelling. Here in Colorado, we have a "Make My Day" law, which does allow for lawful self-defense -- especially INSIDE a person's physical dwelling. But, if you are outside your personal property, be VERY careful about trying to defend yourself or your loved ones. This is no longer the country we knew twenty years ago, thanks to hyperliberals!
