I completely agree they are coercing, but I don't see a perfect solution. I don't like the coercion, let's be clear, but at the same time it is a private contract, so in the matter of consistency regarding rights and such I feel I have no choice but to (grudgingly) approve. Plus, as with a credit card, they are taking risk and loaning you money, that you ostensibly don't have, so they have more leverage than you do. IOW, you want what they have.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of the class-action suit. Let's say there's a safety issue with tires... sometimes I wonder if 10,000 individual suits wouldn't be more effective than 10,000 plaintiffs banding together for a class-action. I always feel like individuals lose their individual leverage. Just random thoughts, not fully formed.
