Do the Democrats want to win the war in Iraq?

I think that if things go well in Iraq then it is bad news for the democrats in the 2008 elections......I know there are democrats like Senator Leiberman and Congressman Baird who want us to succeed in Iraq regardless of the politics but then you have people like Senator Reid and Congressman Murtha who have said the war is lost and our military is broke so I think the question begs to be asked..........

What a stupid freakin' poll!

You know who the real traitors in America are? Those of you who are so evil that you accuse your fellow countrymen of wanting "to lose" in Iraq if they do not support Bush 100%...like Navy Pride, for example.

In a free society one is not a traitor if they are anti-war. Being anti-war has ZERO to do with wanting to win or lose the Iraq war.

The truly ignorant amongst us are unable to grasp that we've already "lost" the war and that the only way to "win" is to find a political solution which will never be done with guns and bombs....DUH!

It's interesting that a political party puts the fate of a US election on th ability for a foreign nation to function. Because of this Republicans are allowing the insurgents and terrorists in Iraq to decide who wins our US elections. If they up the fight for the next year they know Democrats will sweep the elections and if they hold back on the fighting they might get Republicans elected.

Do Democrats want Iraq to be a peaceful and successful nation? Yes.
Do they want to achieve this no matter the extent of harm (politically, financially, or physically) America receives? No.
Do Democrats want to put the control of the US military and economy focused on the war into the hands of a so far incompetent Iraqi Government? No.

Do Republcians want to achieve a "win" no matter the extent of harm (politically, financially, or physically) America receives? Yes.
Do Republicans want to put the control of the US military and economy focused on the war into the hands of a so far incompetent Iraqi Government? Yes.

I think it goes without saying that if things go well in Iraq it is bad news for democrats in the congressional elections and the presidential elections as it was for the Republicans in 2006 in the congressional elections when things were going bad in Iraq........Like I said Senator Reid has already said we have lost and Congressman Murtha has said our military is broke in Iraq so again I say the question begs to be aked..........

What is more important to democrats.........Winning the war or winning the elections?

It goes with equal saying that if the troops are withdrawn and things go poorly in Iraq it is bad news for the republicans in the congressional elections and the presidential elections .........

What is more important to republicans ......... American lives or winning the elections?

Navy:

How many times are you going to repost this same exact poll?

Why not just go back a screen or two and bump up the last time you posted this same poll......

Re: Do the Democrats want to win the war in Iraq?

If you think that politicians from either party put their country before themselves, you're being naive.

I agree with your first statement and Senator Reid should apologize......

I think it should be up to the General and the troops in Iraq who want to finish their mission there........
