Most Important Issue For 2016 Election?

Which of these is the single most important issue for you in the 2016 election?

  • I am right leaning, and healthcare

    Votes: 0 0.0%
  • I am left leaning, and the debt/deficit

    Votes: 0 0.0%
  • I am left leaning, and abortion

    Votes: 0 0.0%

  • Total voters
    31
Does anyone think that the conservatives will be helped by the fact that gay marriage isn't on the table anymore? One less social issue to stumble on?

That's the company line.... but I don't really agree. All the democrats need to do if they want to make it in to an issue is claim "If Mr. Rubio were elected president, he would appoint a supreme court judge who will overturn this ruling. Vote for me and that will never happen."

In other words, spin. If there's blood in the water and political points to be gained, they'll find a way to exploit it.

We have lots of festering issues, among them a constitutional crises between originalists and those who believe that it's a living document and it's words are like play dough which can be shaped and molded into anything the spur of the moment demands. Our freedoms are being eroded by a powerful federal government that is over regulatory and not guided by the concept of equality of opportunity but by the concept of equality of outcome. The next president should get the government out of the way of Americans who want to work hard and create which will unleash the economic engine which created this great nation.

I am left leaning, voted economy, jobs. Would have voted getting money totally out of politics as most important, but that choice wasn't listed.

This appears to be a kind of "I wish all the other, more important and really controversial issues would go away" poll. Immigration is going to be Numeral Uno. The role of the United States in the world is going to be second as we seem to have had no foreign policy for eight years. Maybe even the huge national debt tHat the Liberals have created. Deportation of Mexicans will move to the front as Trump continues.

Out of the list, which issue is the most important to you and how you will vote in the 2016 election, primary and/or general. I have these separated to left leaning and right leaning, if you are truly smack inm the center, well sorry, but limited to 10 options so you are out of luck, just post which is most important. Thank you for your participation, and please be patient while I enter all the poll options.

none of the above

appointments to the federal bench is the most important to me

Here's the thing, every single election cycle a poll EXACTLY like this comes up. People vote. Then people bicker back and forth.

Trouble is - people just keep re-electing the same damn people over and over again, and the problems that we have just continue to fester and grow.

Look at who's already declared they're in the race. Anyone new? Or just "more of the same"?

We're in a massive cycle of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Every election I HOPE beyond hope that more people will gravitate towards a third party candidate.

Every election I'm highly disappointed when all I see are basically the same D's & R's put right back into their positions of power.

yeah i think our democracy is at an all-time low really, yes even worse than before blacks and women could vote. There is NO ONE on the ballot who can make ANY difference

I so hate the limited number of poll options. I am going to end up having to redo this in a different format because it just won't fit otherwise.

It's not my election, but I'd say your most important issue for 2016 is finding a competent executive. If you don't have a competent leader in the White House, you'll never solve or deal with any of the substantive issues facing the country.
Wow! What a novel concept: elect a competent leader who can successful address all the future issues that will come up as well as having good balanced solutions to all those listed problems, regardless of whether they lean "right" or "left" (whatever that may mean) in ideology.
We wouldn't do that here.

It depends. There are many conservative pundits (like a man named Ben Shapiro on the radio here in Seattle) who honest to god believe there's a massive silent conservative majority who are simply staying some until some messianic Reaganesque leader comes along and gets them to the polls. I'm halfway mocking this theory, they phrase it differently, but still.

If yu think yu can rally enough conservatives to win by moving for a SSM constitutional amendment, they may take the risk.

Even the most competent of leaders aren't successful all the time. But if the person comes from competence and a desire to solve problems and not just impose ideology, then they're likely to be more successful than not.
