Is it your premise that the person in the video is the "average" latin American immigrant?

Your thread title suggests you wanted to know what I thought. Is that not the case?

No, the video was just something I wanted to share. However, you made a comment regarding the man in the video even though you didn't watch it.

Nice try.

Typical you.

Its not irrelevant in that its part of the mindset of these people,

Lmao, their understanding of events and their beliefs on land partitions are entirely irrelevant as they have no power to even begin to retake their land. Continuing to ignore this little fact is your problem.

of course they can't take it back (with a very flawed view of history) directly, but indirectly perhaps.

Oh please, stop this nonsense. How are they going to take it back? Set up more Chipotles? Have bigger 5 de Mayo celebrations? Name more places after Spanish saints? Ooooh. Terrifying.

Fact is the US southwest would look like TJ today if they were in charge.

That's nice, but it could also look like Playa del Carmen or Guanajuato or Zacatecas or any of the number of beautiful places in Mexico that you've never been to.

I dont revise history, what am I a leftist?

Lol.

Lies, damned lies, and Obama

So as so commonly seen from the Orwellian left, Obama simply changed the labels of "deportation" to include those normally blocked at the border, but never previously counted. Congrats on falling for the propaganda.

In actuality, that category has been obsolete in immigration law since 1996. Prior to 1996, immigration law distinguished between immigrants who were “excluded,” or stopped and prevented from entering U.S. territory, and those who were “deported,” or expelled from the United States after they had made their way into U.S. territory. After 1996, both exclusion and deportation were rolled into one procedure called “removal.” At that point, the term “deportation” no longer had any meaning within the official immigration statistics. Its continued use in media reports is part of the confusion.

High deportation figures are misleading - LA Times

Got to admit, you are a bit stalkerazzi here.

Lmao, what does labeling and your blatantly false claims have to do with one another? You claimed Obama had done something, I showed your statements to be wrong. It's kind of cute that you think you can avoid your post and change it to be about something which had nothing to do with it. You addressed the WH's use of labels and blamed it on Obama. I explained to you that this has been around for a while. You disappeared from the thread and never came back.

Got to admit, you are a bit stalkerazzi here.

Well, I didn't expect you to actually own up to your blatant revisionism. However, I'll gladly bring it up any time you want to complain about what Mexicans believe.

Whether legal or not, how do you view them?

I saw this hilarious video on a guy's twitter and I figured I'd post it up here. Well, vote in the poll. You will either view them positively and explain, negatively and explain, or neutrally and explain.

EDIT

The subtitles are clean, if they were accurate, there'd be a lot more swears in there

Immigrants? Just fine. Great people, based on those I have met and worked with.

Illegal Immigrants? Tough to describe. I respect them wanting to better themselves here, yet I do not like that they do not respect me enough to follow the laws of my country.

Like an equal human being.

Why would I think any differently?

It's not even a minute long. Oh well, getting into things without fully digesting the OP, typical you.

This isn't related to your comments on US Con's post. That said, shame on you for making the poll anonymous. It'd be nice to see who voted 'negatively'.

Whether legal or not, how do you view them?

People that have fled an impoverished, exploitative life at home in order to earn a living for their families.

I don't live in any area where Hispanic gangs are particularly prevalent, so I can't really say how that might change my perspective.

From what I have seen, however, I'd say that Latino immigrants generally seem like pretty decent people. They're friendly, hard working, and polite.

I have no problem with legal immigrants and do not view them negatively. People who **** on our sovereignty and immigration laws by coming into this country illegally or getting a visa in order to deliberately overstay it I do not have a positive opinion of.

Obama lied about his deportation numbers, he changed how they were counted, stalkerazzi.

I voted negatively since the ones who came here illegally far outnumber the ones who came legally. I've lived in Southern California most of my life and have seen us colonized by third worlders who come here with very little to offer but with many needs. What a difference compared to the immigrants who came here from Europe after WW2. I went to school with these kids. First, they didn't come in huge numbers like the Latinos do, so they learned our language in a few weeks. Second, they came from a first world culture. Big difference. Obama and most democrats are pieces of crap for advocating more for illegals than for poor Americans, both black and white. Republicans are no better either. There are heavy fines for employers hiring illegals and how often does that happen?

No, just immigrants in general. That is the thread and that is how it shall remain.

Then it's a loaded question. You are asking people's opinions two very different groups of people and to force them to make a stand one way or the other is dishonest.

While I am solidly against illegal immigration it has nothing to do with Latinos specifically. I find most to be hardworking and honest and would trade our welfare abusers one for one for any honest, hardworking immigrant if it were possible.

After reading more of the discussion, I dont know why you'd distinguish Latino Americans (born here) from Latino immigrants then, much less Latino immigrants from Latino illlegal immigrants.

Is this about Latinos or immigrants? (Not directed at you FS, but more to the discussion in general, building on your comment)

Obama lied about his deportation numbers, he changed how they were counted,

Say it once, it's a mistake. Continuing to repeat it in the face of facts makes it a lie. You continue to repeat the same nonsense even when you've already been shown to be wrong multiple times. Why do this to yourself?

stalkerazzi.

Lol, somebody got angry that their own historical revisionism was exposed.

Nothing I said was incorrect. You are really grasping at straws. I can understand why.

Nothing I said was incorrect.

Except for the part where you claimed Obama changed how illegal immigrants are categorized, and I showed that to be incorrect. It's funny to watch you engage in historical revisionism while complaining that other people do the same thing. Here it is again though:

I understand that you're confused by this little nugget. However, it remains as revisionist as the Mexican narrative.

One of the qualities people are most proud of is the idea that they'd to anything to provide for their family. Anything. So to the people out there who view illegal immigrants (all illegal immigrants) in a negative light - imagine you're living in Mexico where massive drug cartels are beheading people on a daily basis. Imagine that women are being murdered and dumped in the desert and the police do nothing about it. Imagine that you've been waiting years to legally move your family to the United States and it's just not happening.

If you'd do anything to provide for your family and keep them safe, then illegally moving to the United States would seem like a pretty good option, right? So a quality that makes us so virtuous is the same quality that makes them scum. Hypocrites.

You clearly didn't read my links. Keep at it guy, one of these days it will click.

Flawed logic. And besides, we aren't Mexico's liferaft.

I did. However, they have nothing to do with your silly statements on how illegal immigrants are categorized or who changed the labels. It's commentary on Obama's claim that he's deported more than other people. That you fail to see that is a testament to importance of reading literacy. Here, let me help you again:

This has already been proven to be a false claim. Why maintain it?

Keep at it guy, one of these days it will click.

... it... will... stick? Lol. Continuing to avoid the truth won't help you much.
