can you not worship an object? Can you not worship an idea? Can you not have faith in a object? Can you not have faith in a idea?

Not religious faith, no. The definition of faith is "strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof." I have none of that in anything. One of the important things of having a rational discussion is maintaining accurate definitions. You ought to try that.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

I've heard quite a few people claim the vast majority of the Founding Fathers were deists, but I checked on that and it's probably less than a handful that were.

But not all of them make any sense in the context of the discussion. The only one that does, the one I presented, supports what I said.

I'm a (hard) polytheist. I absolutely believe that science and faith can coincide, and that the pursuit of science is part of the gods' plans for us.

What you state as THE definition of faith is actually only one definition of faith. The Oxford dictionary also defines faith as: "complete trust or confidence in someone or something". Perhaps you should do a little more work toward maintaining accurate definitions yourself.

The Oxford dictionary disagrees with you. One of its definitions of "religion" is:"a pursuit or interest to which someone ascribes supreme importance". By definition, a religion does not require belief in a supreme being.

Well that's a pretty sneaky way of using words. Hey, let's pick some hyperbolic usage of the word and mix it up with a different definition.
