Fireworks... your opinion? See poll.

Elaborate, if you wish.

Every once in a while I'll go see them. Then I'll remember I'm not five.

I could not care less. Seen one, seen them all.

I also get annoyed when people in my neighborhood set them off and scare the dogs, but then again I'm getting older and am *this close* to yelling at kids for walking too close to my lawn.

Mexicans love the **** out of fireworks. It's just been nonstop fireworks around here for a week, and probably will be for another week.

my brother in law lives in a condo in DC

he can stand/sit on his patio, and watch the national fireworks show

we've done that a few times.....kick back have a beer, and watch the show

kinda cool.....but i dont too excited over fireworks anymore

i do like the ones at the ballpark once in a while

I cherish any opportunity to blow **** up and certainly enjoy an expert in that field doing his thing.

You ever watch "Idiot Abroad"? It's a British show about a guy who hates travelling who gets sent to various places to essentially be a travel writer (videographer - whatever). One place he goes to is Mexico. All I can say is that those guys are nuts with the fireworks.

For me. I don't care one way or the other.

I like professional shows myself. Some of the stuff they can make those sky rockets do these days is quite impressive.

But individual fireworks is fine too.... freedom: play at your own risk.

That's the SOUND OF FREEDOM!! MURICA!!!

I don't care about fireworks one way or the other, but I'm pretty passionate that they should be legal for regular citizens.

Not as big a fan any more, but they are pretty.

Shoot off as many as you like. Just be safe--people get injured by fireworks every year. And in the name of all things holy, no Roman candle wars. Those are beyond idiotic. :doh

I'm a firework fan. I go see them for the fourth and love getting my own from phantom. There's weird laws here about them but for the most part they aren't enforced, at least during the week of the fourth.

Generalize much?

Yes. Here are a few more generalizations for you: Many Italians can be found in Italy. Chinese people like noodles and/or rice with their food. And NASCAR is enjoyed almost exclusively by white people.

For home/personal fireworks, it depends what state/country you're in. They're only worth it if you've got the big rockets. Little spinny things and the ones that only shoot 10ft in the air are no fun.

I don't have any problem with them ON THE DAY. But every night for the weeks before and the weeks after is just plain irritating.

That would be pretty cool.

As I get older I am becoming less and less tolerant of large crowds, so if I could just mosey into my own patio without having to fight traffic and crowds that would be a definite plus.

They're fun! Been shooting them off all week. I like the bottle rockets the best, too bad they're illegal here but nothing an hour drive to Missouri can't fix. ;)

I don't care for them that much anymore, and they do bother my dog. To the point that he shakes non-stop when they blow them off around here. Won't stop shaking until they are done. He literally has to be held and be close to somebody. Which is usually me. The Vet gave us some pills to calm him down due to shaking so bad. But they really don't stop him from shaking.

So really I will be glad when these next couple of days are over. He definitely can't stand the quarter sticks being blown off.

i like the professional shows. idiots setting buildings on fire, not so much. i used to be big time into the flying rocket fireworks until i burned the **** out of my hand one year. the year after that, i hung out with friends who were also doing dumb **** with fireworks. these days, it's mostly sparklers and small fountain fireworks at this 20. I'm generally afraid that some idiot in my neighborhood is going to set my roof on fire, as well. i'm not to the point that i want them banned, but i'm approaching the point where i wouldn't bitch if they did ban them. people act like absolute morons with fireworks within city limits.

I used to have a dog that was a good hunting dog and wasn't fazed by gun fire, but was scared to death of fireworks.

I tend to avoid polls that do not include the response I would have checked. In my case, I enjoy fireworks when I do see them however I do not go out of my way to attend each and every fireworks event. And I do not think their use should be restricted to government officials.
