Has your marriage changed since SCOTUS ruling?

My marriage

Yes or no, and why if yes. Please.

How long have you been married?

Did the SSM ruling by SCOTUS somehow change your marriage?

I feel like she's dropped a pound in the last couple of days. So yes, it has changed in terms of total physical volume.

Marriage is the same now as it has always been, as established and defined by a much higher power than any mortal court, legislator, or other part of secular government.

The Supreme Court once ruled that a tomato is not a fruit. They were as wrong then as they are this time.

Marriage remains what it always has been, a specific sacred union between a man and a woman. No mortal government has the authority to define it otherwise.

It will be interesting to see how gay marriages stack up against the real thing. Libs do love their social experiments.

Just celebrated 44 years of marriage earlier this month. And my wife will be the first to tell you that they have been the best 17 years of her life.

Yes, they do. Especially since your god is not an elected or recognized power within the United States government.

I felt somewhat obligated to buy my wife a strap-on. Does that count?

will be 11 years in about .... 6 weeks.

Glad to know there will be more miserable bastards soon.

I'm thinking of investing in gay divorce attorney businesses.

Been married almost 23 years, nothing has changed, nothing is going to change and anyone who says they're getting a divorce over gay marriage is an idiot.

Anyone straight, who says their marriage has changed because of this, is an idiot.

It was considered a traditional value and has now been open for all interpretations.

What does "all interpretations" mean???

I don't understand.

Is it as simple as now, when you say you're married, you might be inclined to specify to a female?

Since, until relatively recently, you couldn't be married unless you were straight...

Besides, what married gay couple would get divorced over national legalized gay marriage?

On a serious note, anyone who would threaten to divorce over this just makes me scratch my head. It's so beyond dumb and self-defeating it doesn't even compute.

If you mean as far as divorce and abuse type problems, I predict it'll fall in line with heterosexual marriages.

Yeah, that type of thing.

Where is the "I am going to set myself on fire because of the SCOTUS ruling" option?

a darwin award is about the only victory the right wing can hope to attain from this

You have a problem with what you wrote. Marriage is Marriage there is no unreal or real thing. They are all real. I think comments like yours were being bandied about by the people who had their sensibilities crushed when mixed marriage or marriage between a white and a black was legalized. You will heal in time. I am sure there will be those who keep track of such things.

Oh bull****, marriage is between one man and one woman. Even Obama said that, before it became politically expedient to flip flop. Typical of leftists to try and paint opposition to SSM as similar to racist bigotry. Libs can't seem to make a point without lying. There is nothing for me to heal from.

Churches spoke out against interracial marriage as well. The reaction of the people is much like the reaction of the people to this decision.
As far as intermarriage is concerned, the "eternity" hoped for by the court in Georgia came to a crashing halt everywhere in the U.S. 98 years later. In 1967 the U.S. Supreme Court declared the remaining anti-miscegenation laws in 16 states to be unconstitutional. All U.S. couples -- whether of the same or different races -- were eligible to marry in any state, as long as they consisted of one woman and one man. The Court reached this conclusion even though the vast majority (72%) of American adults were opposed to legalizing interracial marriage at the time. Also a near majority (48%) favored criminal punishments for interracial couples who married .
The battle over inter-racial marriage in the U.S.

It seems like people and churches have gotten over that decision. I can't wait to see the reaction when polygamy is made legal any number of years from now.

My marriage status has been the exact same and will continue to be for the semi-immediate future; Unmarried.

Hm?

(1) If God meant for it to be only "Adam and Eve" and not "Adam and Steve", then explain the existence of naturally-born hermaphrodites. Yes, they're very rare, but they do exist and are born with both male and female genitalia...and all it takes is just one to be naturally born to show that YES, God allows such to exist...

...and that there's a lot more to human sexuality than only "Adam and Eve".

(2) So...could you force yourself to be sexually attracted to a man? No? Why not? Is it because you are personally able to CHOOSE to not be attracted to, say, George Clooney? Or if it's not a choice, then, wouldn't that mean that it's a matter of biology?

And if you are unable to choose to get it up for ol' George, then what makes you think that a flaming homosexual man can force himself to be sexually attracted to a woman? If you are personally unable to get it up for George, then it IS a matter of biology - people ARE "born that way", as Lady Gaga put it.

(I think I may have just ruined all future George Clooney movies for countryboy)
