    Is that wrong?

    No.

    It's my preference.

I wish all well, success, and prosperity.

    But

As with all whether they are honest enough to admit it or not, my natural inclination is going to be leaning towards my own self identification.

Grew up as a minority, have friends that are minorities, know and respect homosexuals and non catholics/christians, but at the end of the day, I prefer my own.
    Your own?

Hey, what's it like there in 1952?

    Oh my, here we go...

Yes, if you read what I wrote, you'd comprehend the context of that statement.

    This.

I don't have any real issue with people of different races, creeds, cultures, or belief systems. I actually have a rather diverse group of personal friends and acquaintances, in point of fact.

Where my "preference" is concerned, however, it does tend to go back to where I am most comfortable. I am most comfortable, simply speaking, with people who look, think, and act something like myself.

I don't see anything necessarily wrong with that.

    I read it...it sounds ancient.

First you admit you are prejudiced. Then you try to smooth it over and then you insinuate that everyone else is as well.

I got (apparently) news for you, I don't even begin to care how much melanin is in someone's skin. And it boggles my mind how anyone can judge someone by such a ridiculously superficial aspect.

There is only one race to me - the human race.

I judge people by two things - how they treat other people and what they are like when the going gets tough.
People that fail those two 'tests' I am not comfortable with. People that pass them (or at least try to) I AM comfortable with.
That is the beginning and the end of my criteria.

I don't try to smooth anything over. That's silly. I stated bluntly that I and everyone else have prejudices. To say you don't is either to deny that or deny yourself.

I don't know what to tell ya, introspection isn't for everyone...

As is everyone else, despite their protestations...

I don't think I need to take the test.

I've always gotten along with working black folks; hell most jobs I've ever held my best "work buddy" was usually a black guy. Lots of black folks I've known have a "down to earth" quality about them that I appreciate, and many have a hilarious sense of humor.

I don't get on well with thugs, assholes or useless people of any race color or creed.

So yeah, I'm biased... against predators, assholes and mooches.

oh yeah... you can file "race baiters" and 'whitey owes me' types under "assholes" and "moochers" respectively.

My abiding prejudice is against those who are rude. I guess this is covered under "assholes."

I think you're missing the point of the test. Almost all decent people in 2015 TRY to treat people of all races and religions equally. But what tests like that purport to show is a kind of subconscious bias or preference or whatever you want to call it. It would be, IMO, remarkable for someone to have literally no racial or religious or cultural biases, and speaking for myself, I was interested in seeing how MUCH of a bias I had. You can call those biases "prejudices" if you want.

Mine are fairly normal, and what it tells me is I have to be careful when interacting with non-white individuals and must be conscious of my biases, to make sure that I do whenever possible judge people equally as I intend to do.

Anyway, I don't see the results as condemning me for having prejudices. I'm glad to know that I have them and now know I have a lot more work to do to eliminate them.
