Not according to folks who can count past 60 with the number of straight months of private sector job growth.

BHO has done away with Bush/Cheney's "cowboy diplomacy" and restored this wonderful Nation of mine to respectability overseas.

    correct.

This position is proven more incorrect 24/7 .
It is a sign of sound thinking to be opposite Rand Paul on any foreign affairs question. Lowest economic growth rate of any "recovery." Overseas our friends don't trust us and our enemies don't respect us.

I think he wanted to do the best job he could. I think he had the best of intentions of doing this. I think he made some very bad decisions along the way and **** hit the fan.. Please keep in mind I'm saying this about a fellow member in the church I grew up in.

I believe Bush, in his heart loves this country and acted with the best of intentions. Did he make mistakes? Sure, did he do things I disagreed with? Yes. But I believe he was a good man, doing the best he could. So yes, he was a "good" President. He's no Ronald Reagan, but he was a good man unfairly demonized.

I don't know how anyone can objectively conclude after looking at the results of his presidency that he is anything but a bad president. Despite his presidency being a unmitigated disaster he seems to have a loyal following here.
Not only was Bush a good President, he was orders of magnitude better than the guy we've been saddled with for the past 6 1/2 years.

But hey...you don't really want to hear that, do you? Are you related to James D Hill?

If you believe there was "victory" ever in Iraq...then you probably believed that whole "Mission Accomplished" as well. What enabled the rise of ISIS was going into Iraq and destabilizing an already volatile region. There would be no ISIS today except for GWB and the Cheney/Rumsfield neocon shortsight to invade Iraq without doing their homework as to what would happen. Sorry....but GWB has done more to put the US at risk than any President in modern history. See that is what happens when you have someone who wants to "talk tough" and "act tough" but doesn't think things through.

Surely you would agree what Bush left was a catastrophe compared to what he inherited, such as a balanced budget .
Nope, since Bush wasn't the one to unbalance that budget--2001 was a Clinton budget up to October 1, remember? Bush inherited a mild recession not of his own making and that did wipe out the modest on-paper surplus. And it was greatly exacerbated in 2002 and 2003 due to 9/11 which made passing a balanced budget impossible. Clinton did not have to contend with anything remotely like a 9/11 or a Katrina and the dot.com bubble burst was a mild setback compared to the housing bubble burst of 2008. None of those things were Bush's fault. Did he handle everything as well as it could have been handled? Nope. But the fact that the problems existed were not of his doing.

Meanwhile Obama has not only not cleaned up any messes that he or anybody else made, but he has created a whole bunch of new ones.

I am not saying that President Bush was among my favorite presidents. He wasn't. But he was head and shoulders better at the job than Barack Obama has been.

... add to that this crap going on with Iran getting a nuke, insulting and condemning Israel, immigration, Russia and China challenging us... WTF? I had a very open mind with this guy and wanted the best but he is a tool messing things up on a massive scale.

He didn't handle it as well as he might have, but damn, nothing like Katrina had EVER hit the USA and maybe nobody would have made all good decisions in the face of that. I don't know.
