I think he was a controversial Vice President. What do you think?

I'm just glad that war criminal Dubya didn't die, because Cheney - with his "One Percent Doctrine" - would have had us in yet more wars. Both of them need to be standing trial at The Hague for what they did.

Dick Cheney should be in prison for war crimes he ordered.

Should Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld & CIA Officials Be Tried for Torture? War Crimes Case Filed in Germany

A human rights group in Berlin, Germany, has filed a criminal complaint against the architects of the George W. Bush administration’s torture program. The European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights has accused former Bush administration officials, including CIA Director George Tenet and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, of war crimes, and called for an immediate investigation by a German prosecutor. The move follows the release of a Senate report on CIA torture which includes the case of a German citizen, Khalid El-Masri, who was captured by CIA agents in 2004 due to mistaken identity and tortured at a secret prison in Afghanistan.

What do I think of Darth Cheney?

Oh, I don't know.............

I think if you harness the power of the dark side and fully implement the Bush Doctrine one could truly screw up a certain region of the world and damned near ruin America's image around the world as only a vile, evil, bio-mechanical humanoid neocon like Tricky Dick 2 can and has done.

(Was that too much? Did I go too far? ....Nah!)

He's still an evil man, the evil that he did and had done isn't going to evaporate.

He should be locked up and put on trial.

So, you feel the same about FDR?

European human rights groups have ZERO authority over American leaders.

Supply the viewing audience with a list of FDR war crimes - then tell us why you bothered to bring up FDR as the discussion concerns a man who is still alive and not a man who was dead before most of us were born.

Start with the taking of the Mariannas, Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Iwo Jima. No prisoners, by order. The Japanese in the cave systems there, some did surrender, they were burnt alive, flamethrowers. Ask any Marine still alive from the 1st or 2cd about the sanctioned alowance of souvenirs taken from the dead, including gold teeth. The list goes on and on, including the use of willy peter and prohibited gas. Enhanced interrogation and pretty much everything you accuse Cheney of being involved in.

I choose FDR because his actions are a near replica of what you accuse Cheney of. The difference? Folks weren't allowed to report on what FDR did when he was alive.

The others have it , thus far !
When one has nothing nice to say or think about another, he should be still , as I am .

There were no orders from the White House or from high ranking officers - "Take no prisoners" Some unit commanders did issue such orders but most of the atrocities were due to the actions of individual troops.

The use of "willy peter" has not been banned by the US military. The treaty banning its use against civilian targets wasn't even written until the late 70s and only parts of it have been signed by the US during the Clinton years.

Provide evidence poison gas was used during WWII by US forces

Was "enhanced interrogation" ordered by FDR, Harry Truman, Eisenhower or MacArthur? There is certainly evidence that some torturing of POWs was carried out but in every case it was a relatively low-level officer who OK'd the tactics. Higher ranking prisoners were not tortured and tended to provide more valuable information. WWII intelligence officers provided some stories to CBS in Dec 2014

Every administration needs someone like Cheney - it reminds me of a line from Heartbreak Ridge when the new Captain was chewing out Gunny Highway, saying something similar to people like him should be kept away from everyone else, behind glass that says break in case of war. Cheney is a mean son of a bitch no doubt but he has his uses. He no more evil than any other politician and the calls for stringing him up for breaking the law is all too amusing.

How about the invasion of Europe to start. Was that really that pressing? We could have crushed Japan and Hitlers "declaration of war" against us would have dried up like a prune in the sun.
He was running out of steam bombing England and getting his ass handed to him in Russia already.
So, other than to defend our Brit friends. There was no reason to go to war with Germany.
And those same take no prisoners orders and war trophy blind eyes went on there too.
And how many hundreds of thousands of our men died in WWII European theaters?
Compared to how many loses in the ME so far?
Then we can move forward to Johnson and Rolling Thunder in 68. Carpet bombing of thousands of people, untold dead there.
Only to pick up and leave. After we sacrificed 58000 troops.

Bull**** and the same dodge that you would lambast Bush/Cheney supporters for. Again, ask anyone that was there, it wasn't an individuals soldiers idea. In fact it's why my father, though qualified on the flamethrower, chose another available duty.

1925 Geneva Protocol

Protocol for the Prohibition of the Use in War of Asphyxiating, Poisonous or Other Gases, and of Bacteriological Methods of Warfare

The 1925 Geneva Protocol prohibits the use of chemical and biological weapons in war. The Protocol was drawn up and signed at a conference which was held in Geneva under the auspices of the League of Nations from 4 May to 17 June 1925, and it entered into force on 8 February 1928.

UNODA - 1925 Geneva Protocol

Since World War I, mustard gas has been used in several wars or other conflicts, usually against people who cannot retaliate in kind:[21]
United Kingdom against the Red Army in 1919[22]
Spain and France against the Rifian resistance in Morocco during 1921–27[21][23]
Italy in Libya during 1930[21]
The Soviet Union in Xinjiang, Republic of China, during the Soviet Invasion of Xinjiang against the 36th Division (National Revolutionary Army) in 1934, and also in the Xinjiang War (1937) during 1936–37[22][23]
Italy against Abyssinia (now Ethiopia) from 1935 to 1940[21]
The Japanese Empire against China during 1937–45[22]
Egypt against North Yemen during 1963–67[21]
Iraq against civilian Kurds and the Iranians during 1983–88 in the town of Halabja[22][24]
Possibly Sudan against insurgents in the civil war, in 1995 and 1997[21]

In 1943, during the Second World War, an American shipment of mustard gas exploded aboard a supply ship that was bombed during an air raid in the harbor of Bari, Italy. Eighty-three of the 628 hospitalized victims who had been exposed to the mustard gas died.[25] The deaths and incident were partially classified for many years.

From 1943 to 1944, mustard gas experiments were performed on Australian service volunteers in tropical Queensland, Australia, by British Army and American experimenters, resulting in some severe injuries. One test site, the Brook Islands National Park, was chosen to simulate Pacific islands held by the Imperial Japanese Army.[26][27]

After WWII stockpiled mustard gas was dumped by the British in the sea near Port Elizabeth, South Africa, resulting in burn cases among trawler crews.[28]

The use of poison gases, including mustard gas, during warfare is known as chemical warfare, and this kind of warfare was prohibited by the Geneva Protocol of 1925, and also by the later Chemical Weapons Convention of 1993. The latter agreement also prohibits the development, production, stockpiling, and sale of such weapons.

As for enhanced interrogation, ALL named allowed it and it was NOT against military SOP.

So you are unable to support your earlier statement. Not surprised

In reply to clownboy --- You failed to answer my specific notes and attempt diversion by bringing up other points

Have fun playing in the clown car

What statement was that? You never quoted me or asked me anything about what I had to say on the matter. So...
What support do you need about a man who has been out of office for SIX YEARS.

No statute of limitations on war crimes.

You are correct, I was replying to an earlier comment by clownboy -- for that I apologise.
