What do politics of a commenter have to do with the fact that a 15 year old boy; (1) had access to a firearm in his bedroom and (2) first reaction was to fire a round thru a window in the dark of night?

what does that have to do with the term "always"

why is it a fact that every gun restrictionist on this board is a leftist?

Perhaps he got it the same place that all the gangers living in impoverished areas created by the failure of socialistic policies got theirs. You know, from the guys that give them the drugs to transport or sell.

I have four grandchildren living in Southern Ohio. One granddaughter and three grandsons. They close the schools the first day of deer season so the kids can go hunting with their dads. When they turn 12 they get their first shot gun. They also get some wicked knives and learn how to field dress a deer and turkey. Some might like to ban them also. They have a dad that teaches them safety and respect for guns. They are stored in gun safes. They learn to clean and care for their firearms. They also have compound bows that they use to hunt. They live in the country and have a section where they set up targets for practice. There's probably some self righteous political correct person that would like to have that banned as well. Just read an article where a kid was expelled from school for having a Nerf bullet in his pants pocket. The insanity has to end.

Giving kids guns always works out well

Cherry picking anecdotes is AWESOME.

Hiring cops to patrol streets...what a GREAT idea...right?

Maybe because we spend more time thinking and less time reacting emotionally

but gun control is a fraud as crime control

its either the emotional response of those who feel a need to do SOMETHING or its a dishonest attempt to pretend that the left's desire to harass gun owners is crime control

so those who support gun control are either psychobabblers or dishonest

Yes. They live outside a small town on a winding country road. They have some acreage that my son-in-law has worked very hard to clear the brush among all the trees over the years and it looks like a well manicured state park. There are picnic tables he built, fire pits under a canopy of trees. The woods are full of red buds and dogwoods and it's just beautiful in the Spring. There are Tarzan vines to swing on to cross a babbling brook. trails for four wheeling. The land has lots of hills. The targets for practice shooting bows and guns are set up against a hill to insure the arrows and bullets go into the earth.

Age limits on kids shooting and learning to shoot is bad. Putting an limit on when they can buy a gun on their own is good.

The government shouldn't be involved in placing age limits on firearms. There isn't anything inherently wrong with parents teaching their children about firearms and shooting in a responsible manner.
