I believe it is a temporary adjustment of the "Imagery Narrative" to sell a suite of products to follow. That would be a Corporate manipulation of the USA psyche to instill an impulsive buy mentality. The USA just loves nonsense and escapes from reality.

    Hmm.....
perhaps, but I was thinking more along the lines of people giving themselves self affirmations based on needless self doubt. Personally, I think if a woman carry's her body well, then the specific % of body fat is far less important. Good posture, good skin, a good attitude, knows what she wants and will go get that, etc as far more attractive than a specific body shape.

The dad bod craze? I hate it.

Here I have spent decades fashioning my abs into rippling perfection, my buns into tight, shapely orbs of absolute delight and by legs into sinewy ropes of purest man flesh only to find I'm now out of fashion?

    Damn, just damn!

Not to fear. All you need is a spray on tan and a visit to the new jersey shore line to be where the action is!

never heard of this thing....don't care about it much either.

I've never had a "spare tire" or many extra pounds... but as physical fitness has been an integral part of my daily life for the last 50 years, I really wouldn't expect to.

I'd really like to relax and develop a "dad bod".. but exercising is too much of a habit to give it up at this point... ya might as well ask me to stop brushing my teeth or wiping my ass.

as long as a dude is healthy and his woman loves him, it's all good.... no need for ripples and 6 packs... ya just need to be healthy so you can stick around for your woman.

Might as well have some pizza with it, eh?

You only go around once in life, might as well grab all of the gusto that you can get.

Sure. And not everyone want's to be rich either.

I wonder how many people actually like being being poor and fat. Might as well toss in some ignorance also, they say it is bliss.

I can't speak for any women in your life, but as a woman, my friends and I have spoken of this, and most of us (all ages, ethnicities, sizes, etc) all say the same thing - the 6 pack is nice to look at, but it's not what reels them in. There is so, so much more to a relationship than whether or not you have a 6pack. So much more.

It's no wonder you guys say you don't get what goes on in women's heads.

Honestly we aren't really talking about fitness and health here. We are talking about what women find attractive. Most women I know would much rather find a guy with a decent job, a decent car, a decent sense of humor, certain things in common, and someone that they can take home to mom. 6pack abs usually figure nowhere into that. Do they want a 500 pound slug who can't make it out of the bed to go to the bathroom? No, but just a normal guy is nice. Safe. And at least in my opinion, and the opinions of my friends (and obviously others, if "dadbod" is a trend), normal is just about perfect.
So if you were chosing between two guys, and they were identical, same profession, similar personality, similar income, similar voice, both have the same sense of humor, both are caring and kind, maybe they are even identical twins, except one had a dadbod, and the other looked like a fitness model.

    Honestly, which would you chose?
