I differentiate between a statement that a country is the greatest based on some sort of objective criteria and a statement based on a feeling of pride or emotion. I mean, I can see that a Guinea-Bissauan might announce that Guinea-Bissau is the greatest country on the planet, but objectively I would say that's a false statement. It's sort of like trying to define a word such as "evil." Yes, it's ill-defined and somewhat subjective, but I still know it when I see it.

And in times when the economy is performing very well and the budget is balanced and the debts of the government are being paid off in a sufficient manner then everybody will see their tax levels dropped, the rich more than the lowest incomes.

Because I am of the economic "school/opinion" that in times of crisis the people with the broadest financial shoulders have to bear more of the weight of the government finances and in times when the economy is doing really well they should be rewarded for their "heavy lifting" during the crisis so that they are compensated for paying a bigger piece of their income during the crisis.
toward that end the tactics and the strategies that people resort to in carrying out this ideologically driven agenda of what they call “pro-life” which is really pro-fetus does not have anything to do with the lives of babies after they’re born or the women who bear them.

America is the greatest America on earth, I **** you not. There's just no place in the world that's quite so American. That really ought to be enough for an American.

If it's not, then consider that times change and competition is an inbuilt feature. The Chinas of this world weren't gonna stay ****ed forever.

TBH I've never heard claims for the nation being 'the greatest' anywhere other than the US. It's just not the way people I've lived amongst tend to view the world. I've lived in 4 different countries in my life and that expression has never been made in my hearing.

globalization is the new form of imperialism in this century.
UK and Ottman empire were the greatest ones of their eras if you take it as imperialism .but US is not an empire ,it is rather a more democratic domination over the world countries in international political arena if you just ignore its interventions in military coups and overthrowing the foreign governments as we have seen in the process of so called arabian spring

Looking at just a single migration route doesn't really tell us anything, does it? Migration in general strikes me as a very poor metric for anything except...migration. Not everyone who migrates from a country wanted to leave; not everyone who arrives in a specific nation likes it or rates it as 'the greatest'. So how are migration stats helping us in this discussion?

I said most sought, not most achieved. And the EU is 26 countries or so. The question was greatest country, not greatest trading community or supra-national body.

America may not be THE greatest, but it is certainly the favored destination for those seeking opportunity in a relatively safe environment.
Sadly, even the criminals of other countries know that.
