Does it matter? How can you tell, really? I mean -- if you could stop just one suicide or one school shooting by stopping cyberbullying, wouldn't you? And if you answer no, what if the child who was being bullied, and was being pushed to the edge, was a child in your child's school?

    Re: Is Cyberbullying real?

Bullying is real and the internet is also real . People use the internet to bully others is also real , hence cyber bullying is real .

Closing ones eyes wont take back what others have said , over time it may accumulate and some people may reach their breaking point who may either try to commit suicide or succeed in doing so .
Not everyone is the same and have the same breaking point or have gone through the same things. Using your own personal experience on how you reacted isn't always accurate because as state above not everyone is the same

Cyberbulling is real, and oftentimes anonymity allows for stronger versions of cruelty to be said. With social media and images circulating people can also bring photos of the person or gossip about them online to have more of a reach than just at school as well. It's a real thing and is a real issue.

Well in either case, our society has slowly begun to not really know how to cope with criticism be it destructive or constructive. I also think that people are lumping a lot of different people in the internet into a bully. Trolls for example, you got like every other person here trolling but I don't think I would call them a bully.

are you suggesting that telling someone to kill themselves is criticism ? Trolling and bullying are under the same category as the techniques a troll is using is that of a bully.

And you think it's easy for people who use the internet as their primary way of socialising, being entertained, and gathering information can just switch it off?

If crazy person gets on the internet because she didn't take her pills the night before no, I don't think anyone on her facebook who she screams at in posts and then jumps off a bridge or goes out and shoots, no I do not think random people on facebook are responsible for that. I think that person shouldn't be legally allowed internet access or should be in prison for their own good. Prison is better than random people getting killed by the little lunatic all because he/she forgot to take her pills and hopped online and watched some leftist video about school bullies. That person needs to be locked up for their own safety. (Most eventually are).

Are you saying that you think that people who have mental illness should be sent to prison?? Seriously? Way to blame the victim here.

And you didn't qualify what level of mental illness should require incarceration. Should someone with ADHD be sent to prison because they forgot to take their pills? Anxiety? Alzheimers? At what level do you think people should be incarcerated over a mental illness?
