Who would you like for Rand Paul's running mate in the Republican primary?

The poll is multiple choice. You may choose more than one.

The list is about as serious as his chances.

Asking who Paul's running mate is like asking where I'm taking Kate Upton to dinner tomorrow night.

Doesn't matter as long as it's not a liberal.

Agreed with others, I do not think the campaign has a chance to get far enough to consider a running mate.

Paul will be one of the first to drop out of the primaries.

I don't know enough about the back room and financing to project who will become the nominee. I believe Paul has some solid money behind him. I will say that Republicans have a much stronger bench than they had the last two election cycles. The only ones I don't prefer are the establishment candidates.

How about his dad? Oh wait he endorsed Cruz,

In 2012 Obama and Romney combined for about 2 billion in spending. Paul ain't got it. The republicans will have to par it down fast. They can't go into the election cycle with 8 plus people again. They will need to get a representative quick.

Yeah, Hillary has such a head start that they can't really afford a long process of candidates tearing each other down for 5-6 months.

I vote Cruz, so we can have Dumb and Dumber, Part III.

What a bizarre list to pick from.

Um, candidates don't have running mates in the primaries

Obama has been the republicans best fund raiser. The big money is no longer sitting on their wallets because most believe that four more years of Obama type government is something the country may not recover from.

Cruz. 2 nuts in one bag...:) don't like either won't vote for either. Sanders or Warren for me.

It is comforting to know that someone leaning Socialist would prefer Sanders or Warren would run. Choosing a running mate for a candidate that you would NOT vote for is so much fun. ;)

Indeed it is fun! I am a Racial Socialist so...don't agree 100% with either Sanders or Warren but agree with them more than ANY of the republicans or Hillary.

Did you know that Obama is not running in 2016? Running against Obama is a sure way to fail.

Obama ran against Bush and it was the only way he beat Hillary in the primaries, so it's not exactly a sure way to fail. In fact, your candidate Hillary will likely be running against Obama herself.

Personally, I think Rand Paul is bored with being a Senator in Washington and he'll likely last a long time in the Republican primaries. He'll have the grassroots money that his father tapped into and he'll want to give it a good shot and at least be an agent for discussing serious issues. I'm looking forward to some of the debates with Paul and Jeb Bush having intellectual discussions while the others spout sound bite nonsense.

He did, and I considered it something of a mistake(and still do to an extent) that did not sink his campaign as the recession kinda made more than enough people hostile towards republicans in general. We are not currently in a recession, which makes the situation kinda different.

Yes and No, politicians still make a hallmark of running on the principle of whom the voter should run away from. Obama did it to Republicans post Bush 43, Republicans did it to Democrats to obtain the 112th and 113th Congressional House and control all of the 114th Congress. There is no real reason to assume that the 2016 elections will not include the general strategy of branding someone by the (D) or (R) behind their name based on actions more associated with the party over the person. Just reality no matter what the economic condition is.

I don't think so. Paul has a hard ceiling, but he also has a hard floor.

Thank the lord. Obama is important because his policies have been damaging to the country and policies which are not popular with the donor class are generally followed by a change in party. So Obama is important to keep in mind. Hillary has already been accused of being Obama's third term. I think she's sunk.
