Should Muslims businesses be legally allowed to refuse service to Christians?

EDIT: Can a mod please make the poll Public? Thank you...

I'm sure this is a duplicate thread. Goshin the great if I remember made the exact same thread (although I tihnk his was refuse gays, but the debate is still exactly the same, "can muslims refuse service?" There are also other threads about this specifically with muslim businesses).

Due to the fact that they are merely Christian? No. For requesting a cake that depicts Jesus, dressed in Apollo Creed gear, ko'ing Mohammed with a left hook? Maybe.

Only Christians should be categorically refused service.

There, that ought to stir up the victim complexes around here.

There is the Muslim anti gay thread right now and that lead me to do this as the Christians here seem fine to discriminate against others so I wondered at possible hypocrisy...

I assume that you think the same about refusing homosexuals?

Sure. Businesses retain the right to refuse service based on a dispute over their product, but don't retain the right to deny service based on the customers identity alone, whether that be sexual orientation or religious affiliation.

Are you for or against the rights of private business?

I believe religious affiliation is included in most if not all public accommodation laws, so by the law, no.

Any business should be allowed to refuse service for any reason they want with no obligation whatsoever to tell you what that reason is.

You have a Right to refuse service. How far?

Yeah... due to hygiene, clothing or lack of, having a dog with you (restaraunt), swearing, etc.

Sorry, once the poll is made it cannot be changed.

As for your question, I answered yes. It is consistent with my past posts that have stated that I think that a private business should always be allowed to refuse service to anyone for whatever reason they wish.

Sorry, can't change it once the poll has been created by hitting Submit. :(

Should those who purport themselves to be Christian be able to start lame troll threads?

I can't go quite that far. The duty for innkeepers and common carriers to take all comers dates back to at least 1600 in the common law. It makes sense. By denying a person food or lodging in a remote area in cold weather, for example, or by refusing to transport a sick person for medical help, you could cause him to die.

If the Christian is ordering something usual and customary for that business , no.

See Post #3. It answers your question nicely.

Not sure...I'm not a Christian.

Oh, not a Muslim either.

Admittedly, I jumped to a conclusion. It is a lame troll thread nonetheless.

I am sure you can do better :)
