William Randolph Hurst was the big promotor of criminalization of hemp, which at the time was a competitor of paper. Hurst, an investor in lumber industry and newspaper mogul.

Alright so one sociologist thinks the AMA is a "temperance-oriented organization" in his words when it comes to alcohol. Because of one sociologist's paper on alcohol use, makes the American Medical Association's opinion on marijuana worthless? That still leaves the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Society of Addiction Medicine who oppose legalization. For me, when you have that many scientists/doctors in multiple associations against it, it suggests to me there must be some real concerns.

Lursa what I stated were observations of criminal activity where I live. In the Columbus Ohio area, those who get arrested for criminal activity often have marijuana in their possession. I should have included other drugs as well. We have a serious drug problem here. Right now the biggest concern is the number of teenagers getting addicted to heroine.

I'll bet they have cell phones in their possession too. Let's outlaw them.

Please point out the fallacy of my statement. You can't, and being sarcastic isn't helping you.

Please produce the statistics of how many people have died from overdosing on marijuana.

There are no cases of overdosing on marijuana recorded. But there are plenty of cases where it was a risk factor in deaths due to injury.

    Question.
Do you believe alcohol and tobacco should be illegal?

Again, you can tie anything to a death. How many people do stupid things that result in death because they were drunk? You talk a lot about personal responsibility, this is a case here. The marijuana didn't cause their deaths.

Lots of things in this world are far far far more harmful than pot, you just believed all the BS the anti pot crowd lied about for decades.
