Harden The **** Up.

As defined by the Urban Dictionary:

htfu
Harden The **** Up

Used to tell a weak person or persons that they have become far too weak, and to prevent further embarrassment to the human race, they must Harden The **** Up.

1. I see that you are on the side of the road with a flat tire. What, you, a fully grown man can't change a tire yourself, and you're waiting for a tow truck? HTFU!

2. "This is Michael. He can't go on a family holiday without bringing his portable gaming console. HTFU, Michael!"

All my son cares about is dinosaurs, sharks, lions, anything with a big mouth that bites. He loves looking at youtube videos with dinosaurs biting each other, especially the bloody ones. He also likes building far out structures with legos. He is actually very creative at that. If I gave him a Barbie we would probably simulate a fight with one of his dinosaurs where the T Rex bites her head off. That's my son.

One of my neices used to used to drop kick her Barbie doll.

In the ridiculously unlikely scenario where that might happen I would likely say "thanks for letting me know what to get you for Christmas" or "Dood...you are 26 years old...buy your own Barbie Doll."

I'd monitor why my son did with it. Has nothing do with gender identity and everything to do with wanting to avert psychopathy.

Reminds me of the "curb your enthusiasm" where the bigot mom kept trying to get her (obviously gay) son more 'manly' toys but larry's sewing machine gift got the kid all excited.

To those saying no: you aren't going to change your kids with behavior like larry's girlfriend, aside from getting them to distrust you

how could a doll contribute to psychopathy?

unless the kid keeps cutting her head off...

My five year old son has a pink My Little Pony comforter on his bed because I let him pick out his own. My 9 year old picked an Iron Man one. My wife started to try and talk him out of getting the pony one but I stopped her. I said, "I told him he could get which one he wanted". He has never even watched the cartoon but he liked the horses. It bothered me a little bit but that is my hangup and chose not to act on it.

On a related note when it was my 4 year old niece's birthday I went to the store to buy her one of those leapfrog toy laptops. They had a green one and a pink one. I just couldn't bring myself to buy her the pink one. So I got her the green one.

It wouldn't contribute, but it could be a vessel to act out certain compulsions. If my child was playing with the doll as a normal child, I wouldn't be concerned. If he had a tendency to mutilate his dolls, that would be of concern.

I myself have a personality and mental disorder (thankfully not psychopathy), so I would be extra vigilant if I had a child.

My sons play with my girly Legos all the time (got the purple box set and several of the new Elves sets, although they will pick out the superhero ones or city ones when we go to the store). And they like my girly nerf guns (although again, that could just be because they are the only ones they have access to).

No, I have no interest in raising a girly boy or humoring girly behavior in my son.

Yes I would. I am not a parent however. We played Cowboys and Indians (they called it that back when) when we were little, we played with dolls, toy cars, trucks, legos, rigged up forts, you name it. Didn't make one lick or difference. I still like boys, and that will never change. Its what you were getting at, right?

and women in red skirts. :)

I wouldnt buy him that doll but then I would consult a doctor about it.I would accept him as he was in the end

The poll shows why boys are more girly. GG

My son likes his LEGO, toy cars, trucks and any kind of heavy machinery but if he did ask for one I would buy it.

Gayest thing I've read all week.

Cute. I'm opposed to society enabling girly behavior in boys and somehow that is gay. Go troll someone else.

And I'm opposed to grown men oppressing children.

By refusing to buy him a toy? Well it's my money, so I get to decide what is done with it. I have decided I'm not using my money to humor girly ****.

First its Barbies, then its ponies.

This is why little boys shouldnt be encouraged to play with Barbies...

No, I wouldn't. First, barbie dolls or any sort of girly dolls are quite lame, not thought provoking, not imaginative, and very superficial.... I wouldn't want a daughter of mine to have one either. But if a daughter of mine wanted one really badly I would cave probably...after telling her I didn't like those kind of toys.

I am going to raise my son as a man, and introduce things to him I think is appropriate for my son to have interest in, until he is of age to have those inner identities of his own... be it him being gay, trans, or whatever... which depends on the individual--- my nephew I grew up with we all knew he was gay since he was 4 years old...
