Workers are underpaid in the majority of the world, if a sweatshop worker produces $100 in clothing in an hour and gets paid pennies, I don't see how that's not underpaid.
This is America dude. Lets stick to this country. you can rage against the machine all you want but it just comes off as butt hurt envy here. The fact is capitalism and corporations have raised the standard of living for everyone substantially.

Compared to what? Feudalism? Capitalism is not sustainable as time goes on, Feudalism was not working, and now, capitalism isn't working, people are beginning to realize this. I like to focus on more then one country instead of being willfully ignorant of the rest of the world, sorry. Good way to ignore my entire post by the way.

    Define "the wealthy."

    Better yet, define "rich."

It's funny how you think that communism didn't fail because the state still exists, but capitalism is failing even if it is heavily controlled by the state.

Labor is what the employer is looking to buy. Why would he not look for the best deal available?

Communism, by definition, has no state.
Yes, capitalism is failing, however, regulations and control by the state help to alleviate/slow this, we all know what happens when capitalism goes wild without any regulation, history shows this.

I'm not going to give a rigorous definition. That said examples given earlier are Soros, Adelson, Koch brothers.

Re: Do the wealthy have too much power in the United States?

In non-Presidential elections the candidate who raises and spends the most money wins well over 90% of the time. Issues take a back seat. (Presidential elections are different because there is a lot of free press). And through PACs the wealthy can give as much money as they want. In today's America it is all about name recognition and marketing.

So of COURSE people like the Koch brothers and Soros have immensely more power than the average American. Politicians trip all over themselves to kiss their asses. It isn't even subtle.

Because laborers are human beings, and it really shows how most capitalists will always exploit the cheapest labor, it's no surprise they fought against unions, the minimum wage, child labor laws.. It all affects the profit. I don't know man, I don't think all capitalists are bad particularly small business owners, but god damn, you're not helping your case.
