I'm not sure that it's possible to have a Christian country on the Earth. A Christian's citizenship is in heaven. His Supreme Commander is God alone. God is his judge. God is his lawgiver.

This is why I don't really trust devout Christians to be in a position of leadership in our country. Their citizenship is heaven, not the United States. Their law is biblical law, not American law. Their first loyalty is to a god, not to the people they represent. Those qualities are incompatible with the responsibilities of elected leadership.

Re: Is the US a Christian country?

As a Christian myself the answer is NOPE, never has been never will be and if it ever does then its no longer america its something else

I think the real issue is that some people define Christian nation differently. . .
some think that just because the majority of americans are christian thats enough . . . and thats fine if that all they feel it takes but many others think of a christian nation as a nation being run by Christianity or that Christianity has some upper hierarchy or power above all else . . . .that is not the case in the US

we are a nation filled with a majority of Christians
our history has been influenced by Christianity as it has been influenced by every piece of our culture thats just natural

we are not a christian nation but are a nation filled with Christian

I agree with you 100%. A true Christian would not run for public office. For this same reason, a true Christian would not be a good choice for a juror. He would judge the matter according to God's law(s), not man's. A person running for for public office who claims to be a true Christian is either a liar, or confused as to what Christ expects of His followers.

It is but not officially though it's odd because in many ways it actually is officially (Forcing school children to say one nation under god even if they may not believe in a god and we all know the writing of that anthem is speaking of the Christian god).

I remember seeing kids in HS refuse to say the pledge and be sent to the office and then have some trumped up charge by school admins and a suspension stemming from that refusal (Though ironically not "Officially" on the actual suspension because it's technically illegal what they did to that child suspending for refusal to say the pledge).

Yeah America is going to have some BIG internal civil wars in the future over religion I can tell you that. Our Mullahs are still very present and very powerful.
