    Smart take!

So if you buy a pair of socks subject to sales tax, you can check off that box as a tax payer. Unless you meant adding up all taxes paid and then subtracting government benefits, but that would be messy. How much benefit does an oil company get from the U.S. Military? $billions per year? Probably, but we'd need a bureaucrat to do an audit of every person and every company (so we could attribute company taxes/benefits to shareholder/owners). Lots of new government jobs, and we'd all be under permanent audit, which sounds good. I borrow a LOT of books on tape from the local library. I wonder what value the bureaucrats will place on each of those???.....

Also smart to tie voting to land ownership, so no renters. Too bad a farmer who leases farmland won't be able to vote, but the landowner will. But I do see a business opportunity. We've got a small farm, and I can sell square inches of land on this farm for purposes of meeting this 'land owner' test. Each acre is about 6 million square inches, so my family could qualify roughly every registered voter!! And at $1 per sq. inch (reasonable price to be a landowner, plus postage and handling of course!) it would be FAR more lucrative than the soybeans and corn grown on it now...

I think maybe mandatory or give a tax credit to those that vote, so say it takes you 2 hours our of your time to go to the polls figure minimum wage is $7.50 so you would get at least a $15 tax credit if you choose to file it. Maybe something like that.

In theory, some of those loopholes were understandable, but in practice they sometimes made it possible for millionaires to pay nothing, while a bus driver was paying ten percent of his salary, and that’s crazy." -Reagan

It provides reasons for people to go out and vote. The reason we have to many old timers in office is because we don't have everyone voting. Or make voting day a holiday.
