Is there really racism against white people in USA ?

Is there really racism against white people in USA ?

A lot of people say this but I've never seen it.

I've spent a lot of time in the local version. I'm not saying it is rampant; it isn't. Most gents and ladies of Da Hood are totally cool with me as soon as they see I am friendly.

However, you will run into it now and then, particularly in certain specific apt complexes locally.

I honestly don't think so but I think some white people claim there is as a political correctness tactic used to silence those who say there is racism against whites. This is commonly seen in the use of the phrase "the race card" typically applied to nearly every claim of racism against blacks. I will admit many if not most of those claims are bogus but the "race card" labeling strategy is generally used in nearly every single claim of racism when some of them are legit.

I have a friend. She once shared with me that she doesn't believe interracial marriages are a good idea. Because of the children. Because of this. Because of that. Then I reminded her that her own husband is Hispanic. You should have seen her face. LOL. In her mind race was black or everything else not black and black was not good in most circumstances.

She's still a good friend just being privately honest. Nobody got hurt. We laughed about it afterwards. No innocent person got sent to jail (and a lot did prior to DNA testing,) Nobody was unfairly denied a promotion or pay raise but IMHO her views likely represent a significant number of people who don't have a black friend they feel safe enough to be honest with about their true gut level opinion of blacks and likely no other race except blacks.

If you buy into the lib-tard racist quack definition of racism that is not in any credible dictionary then sure there is no such thing as racism against white people in America. Because those smashed in the head with a brick retards try to tell people that in order for someone to be racist then their racial group has to be the ones in power. But if we go by the actual definitions racism that can be found in Webster's, Oxford's,American Heritage or any other credible dictionary then yes racism against white people in America exist.Because racism anyone holding the belief that other races are inferior to their race is racist regardless of whose racial group is in power. Anyone enacting policies, mistreating or having aggression towards people of other races based on that belief is a racist regardless of whose racial group is in power.

yes of course there is . . . .
there is racism against every race in america

by definition of the word there is in fact racism against whites in america, denying this fact is just dishonesty or ignorance, pick one

racism against white people?.. in the US?

I'm told that it's impossible...though i have extremely serious doubts about that claim.

If you define racism in this way:

rac·ism

/ˈrāˌsizəm/

noun

noun: racism

the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.

....then the answer is "yes", because there is no doubt there are people in this country who feel the characteristics and abilities specific to white people are inferior to their own race. Could be Asian. Could be Black. Could be something else I suppose. Nothing wrong with thinking you're superior. It's when you actually act on that belief to the detriment of the other race members that it's a problem.

I agree with this. However I would add that whites are least impacted by racism than any other race in America.

Yes, but nothing to be worried about. White people do not face structural racist injustices though, I assume that's what the OP really meant.

The question is not if there is racism against whites, there is, but what is the impact of that racism -- it is essentially nil.

There is plenty wrong with thinking you're superior. You should neither think it or act on it, such ignorance is disgusting and archaic.

You're certainly free to tell other people that they should never feel superior to anyone else, and they're ignorant, disgusting, and archaic. Not sure why you shared this with me.

I think may have misunderstood you, I took that statement as justifying racism rather than you just saying people are free to think as they desire even if those thoughts are wrong.

Is this the case?

Yes and no. Nothing wrong with anyone thinking they are superior. Hell people think they are superior to others in many ways not just race.

You can assume that is what the OP meant, but it does not take away from the fact that whites here have at some point experienced racism. Not institutionalize racism unless you count being denied getting a government job or the college you wanted to get in.

Now whites have not suffered near or even close to the amount of kind of racism minorities here have faced. They have however experienced it like everyone else on some minor level.

You obviously misunderstood me. In the future I suggest reading my posts in full.

And if the OP wanted the thread to be about "structural racial injustices", she should have said that. I answered the question that was asked. I also said that any race can be "racist" against people of another race if you apply the specific definition that I posted which had nothing to do with injustices or anything else.

Yes and no. Nothing wrong with anyone thinking they are superior. Hell people think they are superior to others in many ways not just race.
I obviously meant on the basis of race.

Which I already said....

-isms are everywhere. I'm sure there are a lot of men who think they're stronger than I am because I'm a woman. And they would be right, too. I'm not as strong as most men my age. That doesn't offend me that men would think that. Thinking you're "better" does not necessarily mean you think the other person/group/race/whatever is bad. It just means you think you're better.

What harm can those with no power do to those who have all of the power? Fill us in.

I just don't understand this point of view when there are innumerable examples of black people with very real power while most everyone, including white people, have little. The idea that the President of the United States couldn't be racist to me, some random white guy, because he has no power and I have lots of it is just idiotic.

I obviously meant on the basis of race.

Please point out where you said this? I don't see it?

There is plenty wrong with thinking you're superior. You should neither think it or act on it, such ignorance is disgusting and archaic. - Van Basten

Which I already said....

Not really.

 I've experienced it and I've witnessed it. Sure, it's out there.

Me, I make a distinction between 'racism' and 'bigotry' and say that nearly everyone is a bigot and a subject of bigotry. It's all in what you do with it. Do you resist bigotry in yourself and others or do you accept it, maybe promote it?
On those terms, I say that yes, there's bigotry against white people in the US. Racism, I'm not sure. Racism implies, to me, an active policy based on racial superiority. I'm not sure white people have been victims of that in the US.

If you take the highlighted words out (a grammatically-correct thing to do), that sentence says something that I don't think you meant to say.

Which was in response to this statement by Tres:

"....then the answer is "yes", because there is no doubt there are people in this country who feel the characteristics and abilities specific to white people are inferior to their own race. Could be Asian. Could be Black. Could be something else I suppose. Nothing wrong with thinking you're superior."

Obviously, I was talking about sentiments of racial supremacy.

Not really.

Oh, not really? Let's see:

You can assume that is what the OP meant, but it does not take away from the fact that whites here have at some point experienced racism.

All you did was say what I said in my first post, but with more words.

I'm just gonna stop here, this is pointless.

Have a good one.

If you take the highlighted words out (a grammatically-correct thing to do), that sentence says something that I don't think you meant to say.

It doesn't bother me if an Asian thinks his race lends itself to people who are superior at math than white people. So no, taking the highlighted words out doesn't change a thing.
