I realize it is way way too early to predict who will win their party's nomination. But it seems to me that the mainstream media wants Jeb Bush to be the Republican nominee. They seem to be promoting his candidacy. They would love to have the matchup because it would be a money maker for them. A presidential heavy weight fight.

Here are the polling options:

Your theory is bunk
Your theory is correct but the matchup won't happen
Your theory is correct and the matchup WILL happen

You're ignoring that they simply don't have much to choose from at the moment.

As for your theory itself, doesn't seem left field to me at all.

After listening to comments from Republican party high-up's and reading the tea leaves.... I believe Jeb Bush will get the Republican nomination ONLY IF Clinton looks like a shoe-in for the Democratic nomination.

In their heart of hearts, I believe most Republicans and Conservatives would rather have new blood representing the party, however the only candidate that can beat Clinton is Bush, so they will do what it takes to win the presidency.

I wonder whether all this news about Bill Clinton possibly cavorting with underage prostitutes will surface and cause Hillary to drop out of the race, though. Part of me hopes that it does. I would rather see an Elizabeth Warren vs Ted Cruz matchup, or something to that effect, rather than two legacy heavyweights going at it.

There's a lot of time yet. But the way it's looking, I would put my money on Bush beating Clinton and becoming our next Prez.

I'm not even a little bit interested in Jeb Bush and am thinking about the opinion that Republicans want someone who's Churchillian:

Republicans this year are not looking for Reagan. They’re looking for Churchill. They’re looking for the guy who knows the war is already here, not the guy who knows the war can be averted if we defeat the guys who would wage it. What is “the war”? Everything from scarily sluggish economic growth to long-term liabilities and deficits; from the melting away of the post-World-War-II order to the Mideast to domestic terrorism. Every four years there is frustration and argument; this year there is urgency.

I think the White House has had all the four letter words it can endure. As for Hilary, her creation of the ongoing disaster in Libya reveals enough about her ignorance that she is unlikely to get the nod. Keep in mind she was hornswoggled by a neophyte community organizer in a recent campaign. Some other flunkies owned and operated by the current neo-con octopus will emerge as the new media darlings. I pray that Warren, Sanders, Ron Paul, or any genuine representative can get a toehold in our gov't, but it is damn unlikely. The only hope is a coherent and organized third party to throw the fascist/NWO/CorpGOV scoundrels out. Pull the toilet plug on the banks and start over, without them.

The Confederacy will not be revived by Ron Paul, who is an old irrelevancy, and Col. Sanders died a long time ago.

Most likely Republicans will go through another 30 or 40 candidates and tear each other apart. Probably the eventual nominee hasn't even announced yet.

No more Bush's, no more Clinton's!

I predict that the loser with the most votes will still be a loser.

I hope that he has a car elevator to play with.

I think whoever runs against Bush will win. A lot of true conservatives will not be motivated to vote for liberal/moderate Bush. That includes me.

Jeb Bush is more a Democrat than a Republican

There is always urgency. I've seen calls of doom from the GOP since the early 80's where "the next election was the most critical in our nations history"...every two years like clock-work.

Noonan is the consummate conservative optimist. Of course the field is wide open, it always is years out from an election. Pre-primary is like Baseball's spring training...every team is a contender.

The reality is big money donors and who they choose to put their money behind. When a candidate say they are exploring a run...what they really mean is ...Were seeing if we can get some big money wrapped up.

Good luck in your primaries GOP.

Politics the real "Moneyball"

Hilary Clinton would have the best president of my lifetime at her side and I think they will make that a selling point for her candidacy, that and I don't believe the democrats have a lot of strong leaders willing to run currently. Republicans however, there are plenty that I can think of that are willing to run but the problem with the Republicans is that there will be a lot of fighting amongst themselves to get down to the real candidate. Despite what many on this board or talk radio would say, the Republican nominee will have to be more moderate. A fight between Bush and Clinton would get particularly nasty but Clinton would ultimately win.

I don't know what theory is being espoused here, but if Jeb Bush decides to run, he will win the nomination - I have no doubts.

Secondly, I don't know that Clinton is running - she's currently in the witness protection program following her disastrous book tour - but I hope she does run and the Democrats are foolish enough to nominate her.

Finally, unlike some are predicting here, I believe that if the race is between Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton, there will be a far higher turn out by the social and fiscal right than in recent elections all to ensure that Bill and Hillary Clinton do not get the chance to stain the White House once again.

I'm not sure if you are joking or being serious. Where on earth does it say she is in witness protection?

What was her last public appearance?

What has she contributed to the debate on the war on terror? I don't see support for her former boss, support he needs from his former SofS.

In fact we don't see anything about Hillary in the positive at all, we see lots about Bush, and Scott Walker, but what does Hillary have to say about jobs for terrorists?

The only mentions of the aging and irrelevant are from the Obama lemmings who see their dream turning to compost before their eyes and turn to the only hope they have, an over 70, tired and unhealthy looking woman whose only claim to fame is having been married to a philandering husband. The fact she will have Bill around is likely why many Democrats will run.

She still has to get past what her real enemy will throw at her, and Obama plays mean and dirty.

So please, where is Hillary Clinton and what does she stand for?

That part is a joke based on observation. Have you seen her in the news or heard a word spoken by her since her infamous book tour? For someone who's supposedly on the road to the Presidency, she sure is in hiding. Maybe she's at a fat farm getting toned for a new line of pantsuits or studying with Betty White to perfect being vital into your 90s.
