Is this one of those "If a tree falls in the woods, and nobody is around to hear it..." questions?

Very distressing to those of us who resent our ideas' expressions being limited by those who are ignorant. I still remember where I was the very last time I used the word "niggardly" and the shock on people's faces because they thought I'd used the n-word.

This is fair. Gives her the benefit of the doubt, but doesn't allow for her to go unpunished.

i saw the video, and i don't think she knew the meaning of the word. should have just had an on air, non scripted apology with an explanation that she had no idea what the word meant.

Its a good thing that gaga isnt black or they would have burned her (news anchor) at the stake by now.
If Gaga WERE black or her music was ethnic related, some of the poutrage might make sense.

Fox News is Fox News dude. We have a local affiliate here too and they bill themselves as Fox News. So, you don't know what you're talking about.

I agree, they should have given her the benefit of the doubt, aired an apology on top of her own apology and that would have been enough IMHO.

If you dont know what the word "jigaboo" means you probably should not be journalist or a news anchor...
