Not necessarily about you, per se, but about your outrageously insecure response.

I guess the real issue I was addressing was the frightened and jealous perspective from which one would have to view the image to make the kind of childish comment you made.

So no, not about "you", but about the type of "you" that would make the comment you did.

The woman is a workout junky who runs marathons, a partner at a multi-billion dollar venture capital firm, and has been to Afghanistan to visit front line combat troops.

Not exactly the kind of shrinking violet who needs an insecure full-grown babyman with daddy issues of his own to "defend" her from her friends.

Both my husband and I are huggers and affectionately (and perfectly innocuously) touch people too. As do many of our friends. So if it was a close friend, I don't think I would likely have been uncomfortable in that scene. If it was somebody I didn't know well, then yes, I would have been uncomfortable. But again the Bidens and Carters have been social friends for a long time now.

When President Bush, also a hands on guy, touch/feely type who has never been accused of improprieties in that department, impulsively and inappropriately put his hands on Angela Merkel's shoulders, he did really screw up. She was obviously uncomfortable and he was no doubt very embarrassed. But creepy? No. Just quintessential Bush.
I have no objection to Biden getting touchy feely with his friends or his wife's friends or his friends' wives. Not sure what anyone would care what Biden does socially as it's not any of our business.

What is creepy to me about that picture is that it lacks what should be obvious decorum. I don't care if one of my friend's husbands hugs me or jokingly gooses me in a social setting. I don't care what Biden does with his friends in social settings. This wasn't a social setting. This was at the swearing in of the country's new Defense Secretary. There is a massive distinction.

Don't you know? Everything relates to George W. Bush. If Barrack play golf and someone comments on the optics of it at that time, you will see new threads about GW's vacations.

So long as Bush did it, it's OK in the Obama play book.

    That's the "change" thingy.

This is after delivering the oath for the new Defense Secretary Ashton Carter.
She looks like she is trying to decide whether to punch Ol' Joe in the nose or to elbow him in the nuts.

Maybe you were not taught well. You NEVER lay hands on another mans wife/significant other.

Even though Ash had his arm around Jill Biden? See Post #14. As it was a photo op that they all knew would be published, it is pretty safe to assume this was not intended to be provocative or a wife swapping kind of thing.

Bush Derangement Syndrome is alive and well. We can't even get through 3 pages of a thread about Joe Biden without "Look what Busssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh did!"
