I don't think this is going to hurt Bush at all is what I was saying. If you are vehemently against what he did, you probably weren't going to vote for him anyway. And you won't vote for Santorum, Huckabee, Walker, etc.
Jeb Bush's social conservative credentials are equally as strong as Santorum's and Huckabee's - I'm not sure about Walker's. The difference is that Jeb Bush isn't a scary social conservative because his social views are personal and not driven to the level of public policy. He is the kind of candidate the Republicans need because he doesn't impose his judgments on others but he's also not afraid to have his views known.

This issue is an attempt to make Bush appear to be a social radical and it won't work because people can and will see the truth in who the guy is once they come to know him.

Now what could give you that idea?

Since even before he announced maybe taking a shot we have been subjected to several threads per week pointing out every misdeed that has ever been rumored to have happened.

"Don't Trust Jeb Bush With The Power of the Presidency" is one very paranoid headline, amazing attack propaganda and the election is still 20 months away.

Now think about that...20 months, just shy of two years and a hate Bush campaign has been underway for three.....that's some deep paranoia.

That is of course, other than the part where he had the legislature throw together a crappy Lonaday, declared himself the guardian of someone you never met and then send state troopers in defiance of the superior court order remove the feeding tube

Other then that his social conservatism is all personal

Conversely, the MSM never mentions any other potential candidates for the Democrat nomination. It's remarkable, in my view, that Biden never gets a whimper of exposure as a candidate when he's an obvious leading candidate.

To your latter point, that's bang on. Nothing is lost when you are comfortable with your policy positions and can rationalize them in simple, easy to follow terms. Trying to hide them or avoid them only gets you in trouble.

Hillary Clinton can't possibly win a Presidential race against Jeb Bush unless the media is successful in destroying him first and having the nuts in the GOP assist in that hatchet job is all the better for them.
It too is used to remind the converted of past ills and perceived failings of "the enemy". Ted Crux, they believe has been tarnished, he is gasp "Canadian" and further "Mexican" or whatever they can squeeze out of differences so raising his name in connection with losing power drives the "Grubers" into nutsville. Sarah Palin is a war cry, and they have so demonized the word "Bush" it can stand for them as logo..."Bush did it too, it's Bush fault, "Bush's War [that we voted for]

I agree, 20 months away and they have to drag up a mostly forgotten tragic decision that had to be made, a "no winner" it is called, to slam the guy and we're not even certain he will, indeed run.

Paranoia, and a real fear that next to an aging shrew with no platform, Bush will win.

One thing that stands out in these attacks...they are always about personal character, and never about how his record and policies might effect the nation....that's always secondary behind the personality.....

And look where that got them, and incompetent rock star with thin skin

the only way hillary can win is if the republicans puts up for election their own version of dukakis, gore, and kerry. and if the GOP is foolish enough and goes too far right to find THE candidate, it will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory

here's where i trust the American public at large
    tell them the truth
have a sound reason for your decision
and they will give you a pass, even if they disagree
for instance, if bill had come out and acknowledged he diddled with monica, we would have said 'bless his pussy chasing heart' and thought little of the good ole boy having a little fun. while monica was no prize, bill having to go home to hillary would explain a lot the motivation for his dalliances
Re: the bolded part about Mitt....I think you couldn't be more right and I think the same thing. It's very difficult to unseat an incumbent President and knowing this, his chances were marginal at best in 2012. Had he waited until 2016, I think things would have turned out differently, especially if he ran against Hillary.

    Good morning, CJ.

Obama is helping the best way he can by giving millions of illegals drivers licenses and job cards, thereby giving them an ID to vote Democrat! Oh wait - maybe he won't much care how they vote in 2016 since he'll be leaving, but I truly pity whoever it is that inherits what he's going to leave them, and it doesn't matter what party they are. He doesn't like the Clintons, and he's called the Rebs his "enemies," so that may be a win either way in his book. The downside will be having to lower the standard of living he has enjoyed for the past six years, which includes having to start paying for his own multi-million dollar vacations though, and that's going to be really tough on his family budget.

They intervened because they were trying to appease themselves. You may find it hard to believe, but Republicans have convictions too, and don't do everything solely to "appease" others.

The Bush machine along with Hannity on FOX - a DECADE after her declared brain dead by EVERY medical expert - engaged in a massive campaign of lies targeting the husband. Tell a lie long enough and enough times and people believe it. That is the basis of your message too.

There was nothing quick about any of this. It was dragged on for 13 years AFTER she was brain dead.
Yes, I know. Her parents were terrible people. Not sure what Hannity and Fox have to do with my post. The section to complain about them is that way.------>
