Wtf!! Firstly, there are those that care about the death penalty, and its potential for injustice. There are those who do not support the death penalty at all, there are those who support a very limited use of it, and those that think it should be used more. But as one poster pointed out, public support for it is waning. There is a group of attorneys, who's name escapes me at the moment, which has been working, I think basically pro-bono, that since the advent of DNA science have brought for retrial, cases that gave resulted in the reversal of many rulings, and the release of prisoners, possibly some death row prisoners. And there's no end to advocacy groups lobbying against the death penalty and stricter regulations for its use. So when you say "no one seems to care", you poke holes in your own argument, way too broad a brush. There is also by-partisan legislation in the works right now for prison reform.
