They posted that video 6 days ago. Have I watched it anywhere that it's available? No. But I don't look at train crashes or pictures of dead children either, so it's not my thing anyway.
    Greetings, tres borachos.

Me neither, Tres. I don't need to see cruelty on the part of ISIS or anyone else to know it exists. When I saw the video of the gentle elephant in India with tears in his eyes as he was being freed from his shackles after 30 years of being beaten, starved, and worked to death, I sat at my computer table crying for a long time. Have some people become so used to personal misery in their life that they lose all sense of right and wrong? It's the only explanation I can come up with when I think of groups like ISIS, because no baby is born mean - it is taught to them, IMO.

I think it depends on why they are showing the video. I they are trying to stir the public into lets bomb these animals until kingdom come in order to motivate the public into endorsing another war in the middle east then it is bad. If they are simply trying to show how evil these animals are then its possible it might be good. I do not know about you but I do not need a video of animals lighting a man on fire to know that ISIL is evil.I am sure most people don't as well. So I suspect the intent in to enrage the public enough into supporting another war that we have no business in.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

I won't be watching it. Didn't look for it. Don't want to see it. But I find no fault with those who feel differently. We are curious beings. Death and dying is one of those curiosities. It's why there are gapers' blocks at accidents. Most of us have been "guilty" (not the right word) of those curiosities at one time or another.

This one especially would be heart breaking. I simply couldn't bear it. While it wouldn't be akin to animal abuse (which would cause me to poke my eyes out B4 I would watch), it would be much too close for comfort.

One episode of Criminal Minds had dialogue in the background while they were flying home that speaks volumes to me:

He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you.
The devil whispered in my ear, "You cannot withstand the storm." I whispered back, "I am the storm."

I don't blame you for not watching it Maggie. I did and it was absolutely awful. I hate to say it, but it was very well produced. It personified evil.

I would never post it, nor watch it, out of respect for the victim and his family and out of loathing for IS. That being said, everybody has to make their own choices regarding this. Most important is that everyone realizes what sort of enemy we are up against. But I don't need that video to know that.

It's not journalism, it's sensationalism. Fox News continues to disgrace and discredit itself.

Say that person in the video is a relative of yours, how would you feel about a news organization posting a video of his death?
No men are anywhere, and Im allowed to go in, because Im the owner of the pageant and therefore Im inspecting it, Trump said... Is everyone OK? You know, theyre standing there with no clothes. Is everybody OK? And you see these incredible looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that.

Considering the person in question was a military captive, I'd appreciate they had the balls to let friends see how he died, and what the things who created the video are all about.

I can't decide. On the one hand, yes, they (the western media) absolutely are helping ISIS with their "advertising". I don't think there's any doubt about that.

On the other hand, sometimes I feel like we in the western world have become so isolated and sheltered that we really can't begin to comprehend what is actually going on. Maybe, for good or for bad, we *need* to be shocked into deeper understanding.

Re: Fox News posts the ISIS propaganda video on their website.

I'm with others who say it depends on their reasoning. If they are doing simply because it is news and they think people have a right to know what's really going on, then I don't have a problem with it. If they are doing it because they know people will watch it and it will drive ad revenue on their site, or if they just want to find more ways to criticize the President, then I have a serious problem with it.

Since I'll never know what their reasoning is, I'll just hope it was posted for the news value and nothing else.
