Yeah just reading a few post and it seems many people are confused by what ACA really is or really does. Now I admit I'm one of them but I understand the basics and I get that all insurance is ACA.

It seems people don't get that ACA was regulations and rules . .. . it's not an actual health care insurance . .

Oh plenty of people understand it.

Through new Rules and Regulations a product was created and its purchase mandated by a ideology thats predisposed to ideological " redistributive " solutions instead of Free market solutions.

That is, the Government created a product then mandated its purchase there by bypassing or subverting any free market mechanism that could lower cost and increase quality.

ObamaCare is just redistribution. From the young and healthy to the old and sick. Problem is that comes with profound consequences. Economic consequences.

Its a terrible and destructive law that was poorly considered by a President who doesn't have the knowledge or wisdom to know better.

Well, thanks to the ACA, my brother's wife is alive and it looks like she might actually survive. AND, I was able to keep my son's insured through college. But, in all fairness, I think was able to do that anyways before ACA.

As far as my personal experience, my deductable went up from 500.00 to 750.00 and 80/20 up to 10k. And my participation costs went up about 100.00 a month (for me and wife.)

So, from my end, Obamacare kinda sucks. But, from my brother's end, Obamacare rocks. Am I my brother's keeper? Damn straight I am.

Heaven forbid, but Obamacare might be a blessing to me, someday, too. But let's hope not.

That's what all insurance is, and why I keep saying that conservatives shouldn't support ANY form of insurance. It's a socialistic system, even when it's not mandatory, and it was so even before Obamacare.

With insurance, the policy holders all contribute to a pool, and that money is redistributed based upon an as needed based.

So you are the very dramatic type huh? You're post is just an example of what I was talking about. All insurance is a type redistribution.

Just an FYI

Before ACA most health insurance plans would let you keep your college son or daughter on your plan only if they were a full time student and I think the cut off was 25 years old.

Now you can keep your son or daughter on plan until they age 26 even if they are not in college and even if they are not living at home.

Thought I mentioned that.........

The ACA has only served to benefit big insurance companies. It's corporate welfare, basically. We should have gone single payer.

I wish that the government would require that everyone purchase thousands of dollars a year of the products that I offer. It would make me much wealthier.

trying to dictate what i can say or how i can say it, eh?.... how adorable.

the basics will suffice.....you aren't entitled to the details.

right

You don't know

in all honesty, it is YOU who doesn't know..... but please, do continue pretending you know anything about my personal affairs... it's adorable.

WTF dude, you said that the ACA wasn't working for you, so I asked you to tell us what was bad about it, and now you run from the question. Therefore the conclusion is - you're making it up.

you shouldn't settle on a conclusion borne entirely from ignorance.

again, I can give you basics and generalities... but you are not entitled to detailed information about my personal affairs, nor will you be getting any.

I never asked for any specifics. You haven't offered anything to validate your assertion. You just said that the ACA is no good for you.

that not true at all.... why are you choosing to not tell the truth?

I told you it had adverse effects and what they were..... then you started to demand i give you details about my health plans.

if you had a solid grasp of what Obamacare is about, you wouldn't need any more details to know what i'm talking about.

On the way home I had a far out experience. I had to stop and pick up some birth control pills. Because of an error, they had not put it on the insurance, so originally they were going to charge me about $125. However, when they realized they needed to put it on my insurance, IT TURNED OUT THE PILLS WERE FREE AND I DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING!!!! MAN WAS I HAPPY!!! The pharmacist informed me that the pills were free because of the Affordable Care Act.

Not only that, but I have a daughter who just got out of grad school. Because of the ACA she is able to be on my insurance until she finds a job. That is a very great benefit for her.

Bottom line is that, I must really thank Obama. He has actually helped me. He actually saved me $125 today!!!

The thing is this, Obama said he wanted to do things to make a difference in the lives of middle class people like me. Man did I really feel it in my pocket. I really had not noticed it before, but Obama has made a difference! I guess this kind of thing would be meaningless to a rich person, but these things actually mean something to me.

Way to go Barack Obama!!!!!

I still don't take back all the bad stuff I have said about him tho!!! :lamo

Yes, my wife and I cancelled our insurance, picked an ACA policy, with a premium $75.00 a month less, not too big a deal there, but hey. My deductible went from 10K each to 6K each and my coverage improved.

That's good. Actually I looked and my premiums did go up at the first of the year. But we also changed providers. Although I have had insurance for years, I don't ever recall the birth control pills being free.

Well, poll or not, I was glad to save some money. Don't recall anything the government has done that had such a direct impact on me since I got out of school.

those of us who are paying for your coverage aren't all that impressed with Obamacare

really? then what did Obama care do that you didn't have before?

In this instance, my understanding is that companies are required to cover the pills, whereas before perhaps they did not have to. What I know is that the pills had not been free. And it is my understanding that the reason they were free is because under the ACA they are required to be covered.

What's far out is that some may say that you don't say that the government does anything good. Then when I say something good, I get criticized. Amazing.

I had the same experience. My doctor put me on birth control for endometriosis and other medical conditions. She put me on a specialty type of birth control that there is no generic for. It would could $100 a month without insurance. I didn't know what my insurance was going to cover. They initially denied coverage and suggested my doctor try something else, and she argued with them. I had to wait 24 hours for the company to approve her request. Then I was nervous picking up my script, because I thought I was going to pay a lot... but it turns out it was free.

Thanks Obama!!!!!

BTW... it's really helping me manage. I was in so much pain before. I am a very happy customer. :) :) :)
